Great video on the newer models. I bought back in 2010 (over 14yrs old) and still use my Baratza Maestro Plus. Love it! I updated the burrs in 2021 from the original M1 to the M3 and it's working great. I do strictly drip coffee and use it everyday. Cheers!

I couldn’t follow why you picked the grind settings you chose. Would be helpful to see you tell us what the manufacturer recommends for each unit and then show that, instead of guessing on the fly. For the noise test, run the units longer. Was impossible to tell much in 1.3 seconds as demonstrated.

Noise comparison of ESP 7:19 vs Virtuoso+ 7:38 making me lean toward the latter.

Does the ESP have a metal adjustment ring? If so that makes it worth it all together, I have had to replace the adjustment ring once a year or so for about 7 years.

Hmmm... We're not too sure what metal adjustment ring you are referring to!

Great video! I'm moving from french press to espresso and was about to pull the trigger on the ESP, but thought I could get away with getting the Virtuoso (as I saw it on FB marketplace for cheaper than the ESP). But now I guess the ESP is the way to go?

The Virtuoso+ will give you a few espresso grind sizes but the ESP will grow with your espresso game!

I have a Virtuoso +. It's great for pour over (drip) and french press. It isn't good for expresso . Does not grind fine enough medium roasts. I bought another one for expresso.
@bl4keyy Жыл бұрын
As I have no doubt that the Encore ESP is better at espresso than the other grinders and you grinded all these at the same grind settings to compare, I would be curious to see how fine the Virtuoso + could get and if you'd recommend it for espresso at a lower grind setting. I have been using the Virtuoso for 2 years now and I love it. As a V60 lover that grinder has exceeded my expectations. I am currently exploring the realms of espresso and wanting to figure out if I should buy a grinder more suitable for espresso. I plan on buying the Flair 58!
@ecscoffeeinc Жыл бұрын
The Virtuoso+ would be ok for espresso! You just don't have a large range for espresso grind (1-8ish). It will definitely be fin and consistent enough for espresso, just not a lot of play room :)
