We came across this road train when the driver was just about the connect the prime mover to the trailer. Probably should have taken a couple of minutes but because of the height of the trailer it took just a little bit longer.
I have made the comment that he went over the three trailers just like a pilot checks his aircraft before taking off. I don't think he missed an inch (or centimetre) of his vehicle.

Full of admiration for these drivers amazing skills they have .....and all the way on their journey encounter a maze of “dickhead”car drivers with minuscule driving skills who just don’t or won’t give these guys all the road they need to manoeuvre these Goliath machines

I always used graphite grease on my fifth wheel, used to run coal out of local mine to power stations, there was lots of coal dust in the loading areas and ordinary grease would dry up after a day or two, An old guy who had been doin it for years told me about graphite & it worked,Well for a about a week which was a lot longer than ordinary grease, hope it helps.

Good on the driver for taking the time to explain things to the terrorists. Regarding the turntable/fifth wheel, a lot of trucks don't use grease, but have a teflon or similar pad on it that allows slippage and is a lot cleaner.

I'd have the b double at the back of the road train mate that how ab triple should be.

When I pulled doubles, I connect one trailer at a time. The ozzy doilies have 2 axles n r probably too heavy to maneuver it manually. Hopefully the terrains there r flat. It would be hard on the tractor going uphill.

That’s a different 5th wheel design than we have here in the states . Ours don’t have the springs. Like the hookups on the trailer’s tail. Ours aren’t that easy.

Gday mate,I suppose they have different names everywhere. The big problem we have here in Aussie is the dust on the dirt roads. It is as fine as flour and gets in everywhere. Cheers Ross

eiclan i drive tipper semi in hungary.Suppliers have a job when the gravel in mines.only 5 km one way but gray cement-like powder we are working well. Moreover, where there is 10 inches deep.coat creeps in everywhere and everything.the air filters should blow compressed air per day.we also use a filter in the desert air filter.Must be lubricated every 3 days the pins, rotary points and turn table.my colleagues have been going crazy when I start to tell them what trucks are with you.It would be more economical in a trailer pulled in here at this particular quarry but no trucks.our trucks 5 axles tipper semis.one drive axles with 3 axles tipper trailer, super singles tyres.26 cubic meters.on mines private road load weight 38-42 metric tonns.gross 53-57 metric tonns.

Gday mate, seems you got the same problems with dust,it is a pain no matter the type of dust. In the big mines here they use three or four trailers. They are side tippers so they don't have to unhook to tip.Outside the cities the normal thing is three trailers but when they come into the city they are only allowed two and not over a certain length. Cheers Ross

I don’t give a fuck how many years someone’s been driving. Wether it’s your first day on the job or you’re a seasoned veteran. I’ll always help a fellow driver hook up, chain down, strap down or whatever it might be.

Help? The “help” were pesky tourists who wanted a close up look at the truck.; they were getting a cheap thrill out of “assisting” him as he went about his work. He didn’t need help.

there is grease there, the trucks obviously been driving in bull dust, its a fine powdery dust that is common in this area. it turns any grease that way very fast. if you drive your car in bulldust, it will seep into your car through every crack.
