Thanks for also giving the water acrylic options today! I have a little one that runs around the house, so spraying paints with airborne volatiles like lacquers is a no go. I'll have to try the green stuff world candy line for some of my details! :)

Thanks for the testing. I ordered some Revell Gloss Black spray and when I sprayed it over some Walmart spoons, it came out looking like 1970's vinyl top finish. It did work ok in Evergreen styrene sheet (had the same happen with Spaz Stik Gloss black too) so there probably had been a reaction between the paint and the type of plastic used in the spoons. Oh boy another new airbrush coming out that I may have to ad to the 17 I have now. Have a great holiday season.

I do that with my paints and I hand paint my models and it has lots of different colors and effects that you can make. It’s great. I use Molotow liquid chrome to lighten up my metallic paints and lots of different combinations. If you don’t see it in any videos then you can always try it out yourself if you’re a painter. great vid as always!!! i bought a bottle of ultra the other day after seeing your vid on it, i also found out that you can take createx tequila yellow candy and createx lemon yellow an mix them 50/50 for gold or even 25% tequila yellow and 75% lemon yellow to get a different shade of gold. i assume you can play with the ratios to dial it. will be giving all this a go soon an if it goes right i fear ima spend a ton of $$$ on these paints LOL

YAY - Alclad Chrome on the bench !! i just got a bottle from my local shop. but i havent used it yet. i Have used Alclad Aircraft Aluminum, and it looks awesome. cant wait to use the Alclad Chrome now !! also got Hot Metal Blue.

I'm surprised you didn't mention Createx's Candy2O for pure acrylic candies. I use them exclusively, they're great! You mix them with Createx UVLS Gloss and they spray beautifully.

What on earth happened to the Revell ? I am using it at present with excellent results.High quality chrome finish.I am excited by the ultralumen,but until available for delivery to UK then it would be useful to know what happened to the Revell.Someone suggested thats perhaps it does not remix well after settling ? Which would be odd considering cans are likely to have been left on supplers shelves for long periods.Once used perhaps it should be shaken periodically.What does the rep say that you once had contact with when you originally tested the Revell ?

Rob, can we finally say that the best Chrome has been found?😆The Ultralumen results are just astonishing, that purple looks just unreal. I have explored many Chrome paints, just as you, and so far my go to is GSW Airbrush Chrome. I ordered a bottle of Ultralumen a couple of days ago so i'm pretty excited after seeing this. My biggest pain right now though, is that i haven't found a great Clear Magenta... I tried Createx, the only that i have found so far and it was okay... those paints are not easy to use like a good Gaia Clear or Mr.Color, so if you have one it would be great to know! Keep up he good content as always.

can you mix clear paints to make different colors? would a clear red and clear yellow mix to make a clear orange? what happens if you layer different coats, like a clear red first and then a clear yellow?

I been holding out for your black Primer. So many paints and stuff that I'm looking forward to but Primer is the key to making solid colors stand out. I know my Granddaughter is gonna go bonkers for that Purple Chrome. I wonder if they make a car that young girls would love. I'm not sure if I want to do the whole Barbie thing since they made that a mess with their movie.

I have been waiting for this specific video for a long time across the internet. Than you for posting this. Tons of threads on reddit trying to put clears on chrome paint but many failed. I am looking forward to trying this out on my props! For the tamiya orange on alclad, did you apply a 2k coating on before the tamiya orange or did you apply it directly to the alclad paint?

You mentioned A-stand Violet being same formula, as the Alclad. It certainly seems so, because A-stand acts like enamel paint. Problem is the bottle not mentioning it.

Hey so I got a couple of questions. I wanna know how you would go about and seal those colors in? Would you just spray a 2k clear over the clear paints at the end? Or would you rather spray chrome -> clear -> clear colors and then leave as is? Also I'm thinking about buying the Gaia 41 for my iron Man helmet. I do have createx blood red but I keep getting mixed results because of the way you need to mix the color. So I'm wondering how to mix the Gaia 41? Or something like Tamiya? Do you use them straight from the bottle? Love the content , thank you. Bye

Alclad Aqua Gloss seals stuff like this in just fine since it isn't hot. It's the general go-to for most chrome-related things.

@Loli-Knight Alclad aqua gloss is not the sealer for chrome. It seals Alclad chrome nice but a regular high gloss 2k is the go to way for. Alumaluster. Klakumen glanz or duralumen. Aqua gloss also does remove a tiny bit of shine off the chrome and it's not so protective

Sorry for being ignorant, but can someone link me to the 2k spray? I only found the 1k. I’m gonna get me some ultralumen from the link. That’s gorgeous! I have Alclad and Gaia paints. And you can’t argue with those results! I just need a good top coat. Do y’all recommend the 2k or the 1k for that?

Which blue is the clearest? I want to tint some 1/12 scale motorcycle mirrors that have Hasegawa Mirror Chrome film on them. Just a slight hue of blue but no foggy. Have you seen mirrors like that which have that blue UV tint? What would I do? Mix some clear in it so a full coat isnt a strong blue but still gloss out? The Hasegaws film is just as clear as a mirror. Very nice stuff!

hey man....great results have you ever tried the REDLINE paints?...(remember the redline hotwheels?) all are 2K . I usually polish the bare metal to a mirror finish, but if the hotwheel I am restoring is to pitted, I will prime (tamiya fine gray) and use their silver base coat (2K) and spray over that Always great results , but would love to see what you think and maybe introduce the line to others. Has used it on plastic models , but mainly for restoring old hotwheels to original new condition.
