Hey Malcom - been using this recipe now for a few years, it has become a HUGE family hit. Problem is, whenever I go to family gatherings and I ask "what can I bring?" it's ALWAYS the beans now. Going to my niece's place tonight for Christmas dinner and you guessed it - BRING THE BEANS. So I guess BBQ beans is OK with traditional Christmas dinner now right beside the turkey, hame, stuffing etc.... Cheers man, keep up the good work ;).

Where I am from we would turn this into a breakfast for the morning after. Once it was cooked and when we were not far off eating we would take it off the fire, crack a few eggs into it, then put the lid back on and put some coals ontop. Let the heat cook the eggs and then serve alongside crusty white bread. With some fresh brewed coffee it would be the perfect start to a recovery day.

This is very similar to a recipe I do. No pulled pork involved, just a package of bacon chopped and put in pan first. Get it about half done where the bacon is soft, pour off the grease then add the bean mixture. The key to it is the time uncovered, otherwise it gets too smokey!
