Very nice job. I would love to see it after the stone work is done and the grill in place. They did a real nice job on those post and custom steel plates.

Thanks Steve. Looking forward to the way these counter tops are poured. I was wondering about reinforcement of the concrete, wire, fiberglass or something?

Those sealers are great for decorative flats. Not smooth surfaces. Contains styrene which makes them a "cure" but also makes them a soft coating
@TheSuburbanGardener3 жыл бұрын
Great job, I love your work. It would have been cool if you did 2 layers of 3/4 mdf coated in epoxy. Ive used it before on my whole kitchen and it works great. If you use the right stuff its good for outside also.

You are a true craftsman and it’s great you get to share your passion with your dad. I’m a first generation concrete guy and I would love to share my trade with my dad but he passed away in 2018 so cherish your time together. I will pass on my artisan craftsmanship with my sons Concrete gets into your blood and it can’t be removed no matter how hard it gets. It’s an artist trade that cannot be achieved in any other trade The satisfaction of achieving the result you envisioned in your mind isn’t worth the money that you are payed. It’s about craftmanship and may all your hard work pay off with blessings from above.

Great video and great looking counter tops. You do a good job of explaining the process ... you are a stone cold concrete artist. I know this is probably not in the cards, but I would love to see a quick shot of what the end product looks like ... with the grill and stone walls,etc. ... it looks amazing.

Great job! I've been using Cheng sealer. It's a bit picky and you can easily get some blushing if you do it wrong. This looks pretty foolproof. With the tack cloth - unfold it all of the way and then refold it back on itself. It renews itself that way and you'll get more use out of it.

About 4 years ago I ran across these forms for countertops. I used to use melamine but anyway they’re called Z countertop forms and they’re a pretty cool design. Great job on the countertop bro.
@terrythomas7903 жыл бұрын
Nice. But if you are selling them, you need to get those to align better. Especially if theres a curve designed into them... The one edge, mating to the next edge, stuck out farther than the other, and you just knocked the corner off. That helps, but.. . Another thing that catches the eye was at 20:14 , theres a definite flat spot in the curve. I'm not trying to knock them, but someone paying big bucks will notice that stuff. Might not be a big deal to some ,but it just needs better measuring at the start planning out your forms.

Question. You guys ever use shark bite.. It's a non slip to add to sealer..

Yes, we use that on any decorative surface! I didn’t use it here because they are countertops and nobody should be walking on them haha 🤣 thanks for watching!
@robertengster56433 жыл бұрын
Right. I know you wouldn't use on countertop.. I watch a real good portion of your dad's videos.. I prepped and made a stamped pad with steps. 18 yards to be exact..wow so slippie when wet or snow.. So I reached out to mason supply.. He recommended shark bite. Add contents to 5 gallon of sealer..And apply..great stuff and works well.. Just never seen or heard you all mention you use it. Especially around a pool area..
@GunpowderandFreedom3 жыл бұрын
