Consistency matters more to progress & meeting & surpassing your goals. Programming matters, but you have to put in the work & not miss workouts to progress on ANY program. Without correct form and technique and compliance to your workouts, even the best programming won't work.

Parents out there: if you have a teenager, buy them coaching as their next bday present. I wish my parents had. Oh to have begun getting stronger a decade ago instead of a year ago.

Such good points. Whether it be SS type programming, 531, Pavel's "hinge and a press" programs, RTS PL programs, etc., the evidence has really mounted over the past 5-10 years that for the vast majority of trainees, the basics, trained consistently, in a simple and progressive structure, produce better results than complicated, ever-changing, difficult to measure approaches. Somewhere up there in the big gym in the sky, Ivan Abadjiev is smiling and nodding.

Barbell Logic's style of programming is nice, especially for adherence, but it definitely does have its limits. Starting Strength is a good program though, personally, I prefer Barbell Medicine's style. Granted, as this video said, it doesn't really matter. We're all just trying to get stronger here!

Thanks for your perspective! Can you give an example of what limits our approach on programming has? Also, just to clarify, we generally approach programming with minimum effective dose principles. Programming should be individualized based on goals in and out of the gym.

Barbell Logic Right and I think that works very well for a lot of people and I ran through SSLP at first and had great results. For me though, I guess you could say I’m more into power building - my main goal is hypertrophy through barbell lifts. And for that, I have seen better results with higher volume. Like this video also mentioned, it’s more so about consistency and I’ve found that I adhere better when doing more reps, using RPE, and switching it up sometimes with exercise variations and what not. I definitely like the MED principles and Barbell Logics style of programming, but I’ve just found that, for my goals, it does have limits: not enough volume and excerise variation.

I'm off to go plug this channel on other channels. I suggest everyone else do the same. Content like this needs to be shared. I hope you don't mind.
