Coming back to these original podcast 7 years later. So much knowledge and philosophies on training. This was definitely the best time of barbell shrugged and catapulted me into a lifetime of fitness physically and mentally.

Brian Mackenzie would be great on Joe Rogan Podcast. Loved this show ! Just a bit short and would have liked to hear Brian go more in depth.

The most under utilized part of training.. If you want to recover better between intervals at max heart rates and lactic thresholds if you want to recover from a day of high volume stimulus you need to enter a place of no stress via breathing. I cut 2 minutes off my mile time in 3 months by using this to recover between intervals.. (probably overtraining during these 3 months) but I was still adapting and getting better. Combine this breathing practice with clean diet high vegetable, high fats, consistent protein, carbs only after training and for dinner and your endurance will literally be on par with a top level endurance athlete.

That sounds great! I’ve begun to apply it myself, sometimes I’m not sure I’m doing it correctly so I’m tuning in

Will a moist heat pack for 20-30 minutes release the same heat proteins that a sauna does?

Probably not, you'd be better off taking a hot bath or hot long shower.

Im trying to find out why different shapes you make with your mouth effect the temperature of the air you blow out. Found this, still can't find an answer 😂😌

I really dig all these guys but sometimes I fear I'm being sucked into sensationalism. I have to buy this book because I have no idea how to apply any of this information.

ppmatt87 it's not sensationalism, everything Dian is saying here is backed by testing and proven to be effective. What your doing is changing your blood and tissue's ph by taking in excess oxygen and exhaling minimal quantities of c02. Having a less acidic environment allows for your body to focus more on flushing out waste product from exercise and stesss such as lactic acid, cortisol, sugar, etc. And allows it to focus solely on recovering and rest because there is an absence of inflammation and stress. I used to laugh at this kind of shit then try and do some brutal workout and take preworkout and eat a bunch of bro food and wonder why I wasn't getting anywhere, why I felt tired all the time, why going to the gym was a chore, why I couldn't sleep or sit still and be comfortable, then I tried it out. Check out win god he explains it really well for beginners start simple and sty consistent with it and you will feel better.

This is just a load of bollocks that will only work on the weak willed right? Like hypnotism. I agree that breathing is important, but getting some euphoric state isn't.
