Since that stunning debut, Mackie has created outrageous, colorful, over-the-top designs for Barbie. Anything but ordinary, in Mackie's eyes Barbie is the ultimate fantasy icon, to be dressed at the height of show-stopping glamour.
In this special interview conducted by Robert Best, Mackie talks about what he first thought about Barbie; his first design for her; the similarities and differences in designing for the stars versus designing for Barbie; his inspiration for the wildly popular Brazilian Banana Bonanza Barbie Doll; designing for Cher, and the Cher dolls; and finally, he gives us a look at the design for his upcoming Barbie Collector doll, a fairy-inspired creation!

While I'm not a huge Makie fan, I do have about 20 Mackie dolls. As for Cher her last and well every tour Cher does, Mackie does all the costumes. Not saying I like them. Remember he is NOT a red carpet designer, rather a costumer . That being said, he does have a huge following , do u? Was that a read?
