He's a genius. You know how brainiac Bob Mackie is? He studied his client, asked himself, "What is her best feature?" and then designed to accentuate that. For Tina Turner it was legs so maximum leg exposure. For Cher (yes, you should do a vid just on Cher) it was her longness and thinness, so you accentuate that by exposing her long flat midriff. For Streisand, her bust. And all women/girls can do this! What is your best feature? Wear what draws attention to THAT. (I'm actually surprised that there aren't Bob Mackie butt gowns (maybe there are)). Mitzi Gaynor had (it looks like to me) a Twiggy figure. So what does he do? Design a gown that moves and slinks as her body does. 2X chromosomes: You do not know (apparently) what your body movements do to us! You could have completely pedestrian individual features (Was Barbra Streisand pretty? No.) but when you sway elegantly, the rhythm of your walk--think of it: isn't it the rhythm of sex? (As a card-carrying XY I'm telling you it drives us NUTS!) That's what his Mitzi Gaynor gown does. Every time she moved one muscle the gown followed her like a lap dog. It is mesmerizing. It's Bob Mackie's attention to his clients as individuals that make him a genius and all of you can be fashion geniuses too: Wear what highlights your best feature. Then just move. A zillion thumbs up for this one. God.

Bob Mackie is my favorite designer of all time. Omg i love him so much, all of the most influential women in my life were dressed by him. His designs have heavily influenced every part of how i dress 😍😍😍😍😍 more people need to watch this and learn about the man that made his favorites so fashionable! 😍😍 Amanda Hallay’s ultimate fashion history made me fall in love!!!! It was Jean Louis who designed Marilyn's dress. Bob sketched it in order to secure a job (which he did). The dress originally cost $12,000. It sold at a 2016 auction for $4.3 million.
