I wasn’t too big of a fan of the movie myself, still, this is the most pathetic and ridiculous commentary about it I’ve seen. It seems that u cannot handle the fact that patriarchy is actually an issue for a lot of people- men and women- and did not understand one bit about the movie which is proving that women are just structurally disadvantaged in every kind of branch. Yes, the movie was very superficial and unoriginal in every way possible, but it’s just too showing that it apparently still couldn’t get this overly obvious message to you…

The people saying this person missed the mark on what the Barbie movie is, is basically the exact demographic for this movie. Acting like women have it the worse or tough and all that garbage is why people can't take any of you seriously. Try being an ordinary man. Not the rich, powerful, top 1%. Actually try to live as an ordinary man. Trust me, life is infinitely way harder.

Look into what the original feminists of the 60's thought of men. Look into what feminist theory implies. Yes, they hate men. If you think feminism isn't about hating men, you're not being honest about the history, the founders, the foundational texts, or even the casual misandry that feminists of today are perfectly fine with.

he didn't go far enough, the biases of the filmmakers would be laughable if they weren't so dangerous and destructive for human flourishing, and their "point" is a neomarxist delusion born of envy, hatred, ignorance and intolerance.
@gamervet47607 ай бұрын
@allegory1062 They want to chime in that he misunderstood it, yet don't actually point out the point of it. They chalk it up to criticism. I just don't understand the appeal of being criticized for having a dick. Also, Barbie the company isn't exclusively ran by men. It's ran by both and I'm pretty sure the president is a woman. Any fact checkers go ahead and please, pretty please correct me if I'm wrong. I dare ya!

Ironically the first clip you edited in with Ortega explains the whole movie. It's about women seeing themselves in a movie. It was a comedy movie for women and it was enjoyable. It's just not for you, it doesn't have to be deep to entretain

It wasn't just a comedy though. Not everything in it was satire. When they were complaining about hard women have it, especially compared to men. That wasn't a joke. That was the point of the movie.

Love your videos, but I think you're off the mark with this one. I'm a bona fide sexist pig and I thought the movie was quite clever because it can be read both ways: pro and con feminism. It's no coinkie that Gosling got the Oscar because Ken is the real protagonist in the movie - at least in my viewing.

@pepperVengeАй бұрын
You watched only 10 minutes explains why you hate it. I suggest you watch the entire film. It begins by depicting a matriarchal dominant world followed by a patriarchal dominant world and finally concludes with both sides realizing that both extremes are wrong and that it is better for men and women to work together as equals.

It would be nice if you could point out more specific examples of your arguments to support them. There were definitely moments where you would throw things out without explaining how you reached that conclusion. For example, at 3:55, you say "This movie throws an entire gender under the bus while pretending to be about girl power" or at 5:32 when you say. I can generally guess from where this idea is coming from, but I don't definitively know your thought process. Also, I feel as if your video lacks nuance and seeing different perspectives. I understand that the focus of this video may have been on your own opinion, but reflecting on the video from other people's perspectives can really enrich a review. I have a difficult time agreeing with you (I don't feel like getting into the details of why) which may taint my criticism of the overall structure of the video, but I hope this is helpful either way :)

Do you take feminism to only be what it originally was? Because if so it has changed beyond recognition. It's more about female superiority. They don't care about men, so how could it possibly be about equality.
