Brett Cooper left the dailywire, so I don't think she will be in their "reimagining." They're just as likely to push their own agenda because the right or the left will use each other's exact same tactics.

"Ideas for our next fat cash in?" "How about, boss, if we revive Gigantic? Or some other project shelved over the years? Something interesting and profitable could come out of it." "Nah, better stick with the digitally animated remakes of the classics." "...but at this point, we might as well release the animated classics. Minimal costs, sure profit and at least we don't have to shell out anything in the production of new films that would take time and resources from other departments-" "You're fired."

My favorite description of rian Johnson’s approach is that it’s okay to want to “deconstruct” Star Wars as we know it. The issues is you need to actually understand Star Wars in the first place to deconstruct it.

Big difference from prequels and sequels: (1) George had a plan for the story already from the start. (2) Sequels were written one at a time with no bigger plan.

The only WATCHABLE Prequel is The Phantom Menace. Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith sucked any ounce of FUN out of the trilogy.

I love how even in his biggest criticisms of the Sequel Trilogy, Hamill never resorted to the sexist Mary Sue arguments, unlike thousands and thousands of YT content greators who grift off of the same old sexist and mysogynist talking points without adding anything valuable to the conversation about why the sequels actually sucked. Hating on Daisy Ridley while glorifying Driver's abusive method acting has become a sure way to get tons of clicks and monetization at this point.

She defames black and brown women and other women in general, writes under a "biologically male" name, as well as praising authoritarian crackdowns from Donald Trump...and you follow her still...gleefully. She can't be cancelled, because she represents the corruption feeding our leaders lines, she is a part of it, that's what she clearly always wanted. Some authors just want authority.

I think it should be obvious and doesn't even require a video to reaffirm it... I mean, it's not like if you don't agree with an author's ideas, or - even worse - you discover that your favorite author isn't exactly an holy man, then everything that that author has produced must be thrown into the undifferentiated collection. Can (and I stress, *can*) his works acquire another light? Certain. Can the messages that his works conveyed be perceived as no longer worthy of consideration? Sure. However, if that novel/film/video game/musical work meant something to you, individually, or even led you to meet other people who share that passion, I find it absurd to throw away the human experience that arose from that given work, because not we agree with the author of the given work. But, again, this is just my opinion on the subject.

I think it's impossible to deny that the prequels have their flaws and some forced plots, however they very often remain in the background and it's difficult to pay too much attention to them with an uncommitted vision. The sequels, on the other hand, already from the opening credits pose many questions which in the three films are little or not explained at all, and often it is necessary to refer to books or comics to try to understand something... and even so, it turns out to be a big problem.

The prequels have become more acceptable with the expansion and clarification of the era in "Clone Wars", "Rebels", and "Bad Batch".

this is an argument that is winnable by nothing more than the protagonists Anakin through his trilogy begins as a starry eyed child, and at the end is a Lord of the Sith Rey through her trilogy begins as an over competent brat on the desert, to an over powered brat on a desert and that's just the surface

The part I hated most about the sequels was that they pretty much take the original trilogy, chuck it out the window, and pretend they did it first by repeating most of the same beats. The hero lives a mediocre life on a desert planet under an oppressive empire (that came out of fucking nowhere), turns out they're a jedi, there's a knock-off Han Solo, knock-off Death Star, pathetic wannabe Vader who's too weak to be a dark jedi, nevermind a sith, the whole first movie just feels like what you'd get if you vaguely described A New Hope to someone without explaining the importance of any of it, then they threw in some extra details trying to fix it. Obligatory mention of the Holdo Maneuver taking a sledgehammer to the entire Star Wars universe. If it was a viable strategy, why does no one else use it? If it was a one-in-a-million gamble with even less chance of success than what the other guy tried to do and was chided for, why would she throw away their chances on such low odds, and why did Hux and his subordinate seem to understand _exactly_ what was about to happen? Then there's Vader's entire story being made pretty much moot by resurrecting Palpatine (which was just as stupid when the EU did it), his life's purpose having been to kill that son of a bitch to restore balance to the force. And for no reason, Palpatine not only had kids, but Rey is his granddaughter, because fuck having the hero be some _nobody_ that didn't come from a legendary lineage building their own legacy, power can only come from big names, right? "Anakin Skywalker? Never heard of him." There's more, but I've already put more effort into this comment than the writers did for those three movies.

I hate the fact that she's so nonchalant about the fact that Rey beat kylo Ren and she's just ignoring the entire premise of what the movie was based on. I wish we could undo these movies. Also they picked a girl who is drawing a fine line between being kind of pretty or looking slightly mentally retarded. The fact that she doesn't care about how stupid the idea of her beating kylo Ren is, makes me think that she's been spoon fed a bunch of crap from the woke Disney straight white male hating executives. They're all probably like if anyone doesn't love this movie, they're misogynistic

Acting like there was never diversity in movies.... What about Carl Weathers, Billy Dee Williams, Samuel L Jackson? You mean to tell me no people of color looked up to these men? And those were representations people actually want, not a different black character with 3 different hair styles across the industry, not the white soy boy that can't do anything bc he's got something between his legs. The entertainment industry is dragging it's own zombified corpse through the streets hoping SOMEONE will give it the attention it wants. Edit: preaching for safe spaces, inclusion, amd equality is rich coming from Lesbian Headband. "Just say yes" hmmmmm.... You freaky motha fucka how tf were you allowed to make ANYTHING let alone a Star Wars project. And lets all take a guess where the budget for the show actually went.

TLJ was the FIRST star wars movie i ever saw in theaters, as i was born during the prequels, and i walked out disappointed. Never had i gone to the theater and genuinely walked out feeling like my time was wasted. I went over it in my head on the way home and couldn't believe just how dog shit it was. Meanwhile, a good chunk of ppl in the theater laughed at Luke throwing his saber, the stupid jokes, etc. Yall..... This isn't star wars. How tf are you enjoying being ridiculed as an audience member in the theater? How are you enjoying watching some pompous douchebag ruin everything thats been built since the 70s? Crazy how stupid some people can be.

Star Wars' legacy only clinges on two all-time movies, two good movies, two or three great TV show and a bunch of books/comics/videogames most casual fans have never heard of (Just because the sequels were dogshit doesn't mean the prequels weren't mostly shit on their own way)

As a kid I loved the Prequels because lightsabers and open warfare among the stars were fun, but as I got older, I began to appreciate how it explained the original trilogy. Like, it seems ridiculously realistic for a galaxy wide war to break out over trade disputes and taxes, or the fact that Palpatine’s entire plan to take over the galaxy HAD to go through the senate. Or how the more shiny ships and tech in the prequels give way to the OT’s lived in and dusty galaxy, which also, in a way, reflects Darth Vader perfectly. George deserves much more credit for his baby and I’m glad he’s getting it. I just wish it didn’t take the franchise being sold for many fans to realize it.
@lightning20346 күн бұрын
hot take it took disney to ruin the franchise to make us appreciate what George Lucas and Lucasfilm tried to do with this series. and as fans we were responsible for this because we didn't understand what he was trying to portray and got angry at him. we're there mistakes? yes there was mistakes. but did it tell the tragedy of darth vader in its entirety? yes it did. we were just too blinded by the rose tinted glasses to see it for its magnificence and realistic foreshadowing. we do not deserve star wars nor legends continuity #imsorrygeorge

I watched the og ones first. They seemed to me nice movies for something so old. But the fight were bad, the effects sometimes wonky, the story sinplistic, and Harrison Ford hadnt yet learned to act. The prequels werw much more fun to me bc they were more complex. The only bad thing about them.is making anakin a little kid in ep1. No kid can carry a movie
