I have this film recorded and, at least once a month, I curl up upon my sofa to watch it. Despite, of course, knowing the ending, every time, it reduces me to tears. I have dreamed so many times of seeing Barbra in concert but I know it will only ever remain in dreams. She will never now perform a concert in the UK and even if she were to do so, I would be unable to afford a ticket. What an amazing talent from a truly beautiful lady.

i can hear it..for sure, its a bit strained and scratchy in the high notes, and NOT what it used to be at all. That being said compared to what else is out there and the fact that shes in here 70's ..lets cut her some slack.

tb717 When I was young I was a huge fan. Over time and watching how Streisand conducted herself over the decades, I lost respect for her. She refused for decades . . . to perform live, in concert, for her fans, due too? OMG! She MIGHT forget a word to a song, which would mean that . . . she isn't "perfect." As a fan, you do know that, right? Which brings us to the present. Sopranos lose vocal quality with age. Fact. Streisands voice is no longer "perfect." And yet, for the almighty dollar and applause, Streisands touring and expecting her fans to pay her top dollar to hear . . . less than "perfection." I suspect you remember the great opera singer Beverly Sills. There came a time in her career when she recognized her voice deteriorating. Because she respected not only the sound of her voice but also her fans . . . she retired, at the top of her voice and let the recordings speak for themselves. Streisand should have done the same!

I'd say her voice has deteriorated in some respects, but I wouldn't say she strained. Her voice just doesn't have the same quality despite her technique being impeccable.
