Great video Jamie! Was waiting on your upload after the Laporta conference yesterday. Here’s what I make of it. 1. It had always been clear to me that our return to the 1:1 rule was hinged on the Nike deal. Once the courts ruled against the club, Nike took a step back. So I agree with Laporta that it was in the best interest of the club not to rush into the final details because we were under pressure. 2. The circumstances under which Gundo left could have been financial( can’t say for certain) but I believe Gundo is not a Flick type of player in that 10 position. He’s slow and doesn’t make good recoveries compared to Olmo. He’s slow and is not high energy compared to any of our midfielders and that may be due to his age. The game against RM in the preseason is probably when Flick had seen enough and made the decision to let him leave. 3. Xavi ball was good but limited and that was down to experience. I’m sure we can all agree to that. Flick on the other hand plays very dynamic football and is working on a system that suits the players that are available to the team right now. Plus he refuses to make excuses on the lack of a decent transfer window. Sth he knew before accepting the challenge. My 2 cents ✌🏾

the seemingly conflicting statements regarding Gundogan make sense though. On a sporting standpoint, Gundogan got exchanged with a younger, more energetic and dynamic attacking midfielder that has Barca blood. Financially, it wouldn't make sense to have them both on the payroll if they fulfill the same job. So naturally you stick with the younger transfer target that has more potential. Laporte is saying the same as Gundogan himself, but just worded differently. I can understand if he'd want to steer away from the financial side of things cause that's all everyone ever talks about with Barca.
