I was thinking the same when I heard that they play kimmich as a rb in bayern. But now that u draw the picture out there.. wow, could be on to something. High risk, high reward. This formation is a disaster, it would stand a chance if Kounde was a type of player like Araujo and Araujo was similar to Kounde but no we have a player who can make runs and physically strong to stop defenders and another who lacks that but it’s very good with the ball. In possession one becomes a liability and to defend counterattacks the other is a liability. And don’t let me start with Cancelo I just don’t know why we should keep him anyway. This formation would work but not all the players in this lineup can fit and play in this lineup at an elite level because it would be efficient if they could not lose the ball at world class level and can easily win it back when it is lost. This is 1 of the most shittiest lineup i couldve seen in recent times. This isnt 2015 barca where u can say, "even if we concede 3 goals we can score 5-6 a game". Lewandowski, despite how good he is, is never gonna be that bayern Lewandowski ever again. U can have guys like prime messi and prime xavi assisting him yet, hes never gonna do what suarez did especially not at this age. Playing 2 cbs is a suicide. Even city, who have guys like rodri and walker who can both attack and defend play atleast 3 cbs every game. Here, apart from gavi, not a single player up the field can defend. The 3-2-5 is the best option. Playing frenkie and de jong at the same time is redundant. Both of them are literally ball distributors. Kimmich does it with progressive passes. De jong does it by carrying the ball. We dont need both at the same time. And idk how its even possible to bring silva and kimmich and sign cancelo next season if we arent in the 1-1 rule yet. We gotta sell a big player. And imo it should be de jong. Play a midfield of gundo, gavi and kimmich. Cancelo plays the wing back. We play 3cbs instead of 4. That should be the only change.
