Tony, thanks for your great videos. 1 comment, at 5:50 you said "you need to take 36 trips on T-usual to have better deal than on T-casual". Maybe it was correct in 2021, but today (2/13/24) T-casual cost on-line 12.15E for 10 tickets (1 ticket=1.215E) and T-usual cost 21.35E unlimited rides for 30 days. So 21.35/1.215=17.6 which means if you make 18 trips you break even. I think T-usual gives you peace of mind, you don't have to worry how many trips you have left like on T-casual.

Thanks, Oriol. We explain the use of the T-casual on the train and local bus from the airport in the video where we explain how to leave the airport. Given the shambles the implementation of T-mobilitat has been so far, we will only deal with it when it's fully operational.

Also, the T-10 casual ticket is much better than T-Dia from 1st September till the end of 2022 because it is 30 percent off the price. So it’s 7.95 euros for the T-10 casual vs T-Dia 10.50 euros for a day ticket. So that’s 2.55 euros you’d save for that one day, from what I’ve been planning for a day trip around Barcelona I’d only use like 7 trips which is a lot considering I’m visiting all round Zone 1.
@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal2 жыл бұрын
7 trips on a single day sounds like an awful lot, but it all depends on the specific trips you will be completing. We are not going to talk on the channel about the government scheme to help commuters between September and December as it has an expiry date, but great if you can make the most of it.

A further update now that we have been in Arenys de Mar for a few days. In our circumstances (i.e. staying in Maresme county for a long period) we were directed to the "abonament recurrent" ticket on the railway machines. It translates to "recurring subscription" and covers rail travel across the 6 zones of Barcelona province for 4 months at an amazing price of €10. It was introduced for Sep-Dec 2022 "semester" but has been extended to the 3 semesters of 2023. It is only for train travel, excludes bus & metro in the city, so probably not for most visitors based in Barcelona, but it is Incredible value for us. Like the T-usual, you must enter the digits from your ID or passport at the ticket machine and travel with that ID each time.

And, on the other hand, the issue of train zones beyond Barcelona. Montserrat is 60km from Barcelona and does not form part of the Greater Barcelona transport network. It is in zone 4 but it is not the same zone system as the one that applies to local transport in Barcelona. To go to Montserrat, do as you suggest first. Local metro to Plaza de España (pay with T-casual). And then specific train ticket to go to Monistrol de Montserrat (you will be able to buy it at the ticket machines or the ticket office at the station. In the metro, you validate on entry. In the train, on entry and exit. Hope that clarifies things for you. All the best!

So am I correct in thinking that the T-Usual is our best bet? One last question, is it best to use the train or the metro from Estacion de Francia to the airport? Thank You!
@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal Жыл бұрын
Hello, Mike & Dara. You are correct, in your specific case, and with the current 50% discount, the T-usual ticket sounds like the best choice for you. The trains departing from Estación de Francia do not go to the airport, you would have to change trains at Sans Stations. All the best!

Is there some kind of validation machine in bus, train etc.. where we can choose number of us and just one time check all of us, or each of us must chek in for itself with same(shared) card. First time in Spain and Barcelona and we want to know in advance how it works there.

Hi there, Mirjana! On our most recent video, on the Barcelona Card, we show how you validate your tickets in Barcelona: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZ6vnmOrqpaioLM T-familiar tickets work exactly the same as the Barcelona Card. Hi Tony, your video is informative and easy to understand. I am confused that T-Usual there is unlimited trips in 30 days. I would also like to ask if T-casual and T-usual are still available now (11 Feb 23) since i see confusing statement in TMB website about exipry. For T-usual, is there any limit on number of trip for airport metro? I am thinking to get a T-usual as i will be having 3 trips of airport metro within 30 days.

Hello there. It is probably done for statistical purposes. The company needs to know how many trips are done for each T-usual card sold. To you, it makes zero difference, as you won't be paying anything whether you are withing our outside those 75 minutes. Para mi 1 si estamos in 75 minutos.

Hello, what you are missing is that the T-usual is, right now, at a heavily discounted price due to a government initiative to support commuters. Hello Pua, you can use the T-casual on the airport train indeed, you will find that information on the video where we explain how to leave Barcelona airport: kzbin.info/www/bejne/imGypImNnrioZs0 The airport is in zone 1 and you will be able to buy the T-casual at the train station near T2. As T-casual is not valid on the airport metro, it is not sold on the ticket machines at T1. All the best.

Hello Toni, your videos are very helpful.we have booked our stay in Malgrat De Mar in October for 3 days. If we want to visit Sagrada Familia and city tour in 1 day, what kind of ticket would be economical? Btw we are 10 adults paying individually or in group depending on situation. To & fro taxi from airport is included in our stay.Thanks in advance.
@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal Жыл бұрын
Hi there. Malgrat de Mar is really far from Barcelona. So you'll need to buy a ticket to get from Malgrat to Barcelona (ask for advice wherever you are staying) and then a local ticket to move around Barcelona. You might have to buy several T-familiar tickets.

Hello Tony, your videos are great. 👍 I have a question on how to use the T-familiar card (8 trips), how to validate at the station to enter the platform? I am travelling from Zone 1 to Zone 4 (Sant Sadurní d’Anoia), so I intend to buy a T-familiar card that covers 4 of us to Zone 4 and return to City centre. Or do you have a better suggestion ? Thank you.
@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal Жыл бұрын
Hi Dave. One person stands by the barrier holding the card and validates the trip for one passenger. The passenger goes through. Repeat as many times as needed. The person holding the card is the last one to enter the station. Get a T-familiar valid for 3 zones to get to Sant Sadurní d'Anoia.

I will be visiting barcelona on october 20 for 7 days with my husband and a 1 yr old baby, I am not sure what transport ticket to buy... Im still thinking of buying 5days ticket or T-casual... Is T-casual valid only for 24hours?
@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal2 жыл бұрын
T-casual is currently being sold at a discount, so it will probably be the best choice for you. Your baby travels for free.

@@shielagalluzzo6273 T-casual is valid until it runs out of credit, when you use the 10 trips it includes.

I know you don’t approve ;) but I will be in Barcelona for just one full day and then after a week back again for one full day. What card do you suggest getting? I think we will use metro and the bus? (for 2 adults)
@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal2 жыл бұрын
Cheyenne, it all depends on what you plan to do. But the T-casual card serves most people.

You have left the same question three times, no need to repeat your questions, it's more work for us. But T-familiar or T-usual for 2 zones to get in and out of Molins de Rei.

Hi Tony and thank you for the video. The ticket validation is a little confusing to me so I apologise. My understanding of it so far is that after each trip I need to validate it??? If I dont validate it within 75min is the ticked compromised in some way??? Apologies agen . I plan on visiting Barcelona with my family in april from salou so I very much appreciate your video. Thank you. Also would you recommend the T familiar for my visit 2 adults 2 kids Just to move about the city for the day. Greeting from Ireland.
@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal Жыл бұрын
Hi Tom. You don't need to validate your ticket at the end of each trip. However, if you intend to change from one transport to another, say from metro to bus, you need to validate it when you enter the metro and when you enter the bus. Each transport, one validation. In your specific case, T-Familiar sounds like a very good choice for a day trip to Barcelona. All the best!

Hi tony we are coming in June it will be 4 people we are staying in Casteldefels and planto go to the city on a few occasions we are thinking the t-familiar ? The 8 trips on that card will that be 1 trip for the 4 of us or will that card be used up in 2 trips tanx
@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal2 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, with a T-familiar, being four, you can complete one return trip to Castelldefels for the four of you. The T-familiar includes 8 individual tickets.

If I want to use T-grup tickets for 14 people simultaneously , I need to validate 14 times the ticket when we jump on the train? And after I change R2 line with R1 line I need to validate again for 14 people, but it will count as one journey? Thanks in advanced guys !!!
@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal Жыл бұрын
You will need to validate the ticket 14 times every time you use a type of transport. Within 75 minutes, it will discount just one trip per person.
