A MAN was born with such a severe case of facial tumours that he no longer has a face. Latif Khatana, from Jammu in India, has suffered from Neurofibromatosis since birth - a condition that causes tumours to grow on nerve tissue. Though Latif's tumours grow all over his body, unfortunately the largest ones are on his face. With both his eyes covered by the large folds of skin, Latif has lost most of his eyesight. After having suffered years of abuse for his condition, Latif is now a happily married father of two. Him and his wife Salima, who was born missing a foot, bonded over their disabilities. However, the parents are still afraid that their daughters might one day start showing signs of Latif's condition.

There's no ultimate cure for this genetic disease, and all kind operations aim for elimination especially near face are dangerous.

Yea since it’s a genetic disease, there is no cure as sun said. I think the normal treatment of the disease is to surgically remove as much of the excess tissue as possible, I think there’s a possibility for it to grow back so it probably has to be excised every few years or so when it does. Dr pimple popper treated a woman with the exact genetic condition, she excised the majority of the lumps on the patient’s face. If the man has access to a decent doctor, they can improve his quality of life by a big margin.

His sisters turned down multiple offers of marriage until they found a man that met their criteria. Those in this video are at subsistence poverty level in a village in India. Their options are already limited and no one would marry their children to either of them. But how many people here in the West would marry him or her if they were whole? Not too many. They have each other to comfort, support, and love. They are not alone. They have healthy children who will have better chances than they. Both seem content. It's better than the alternatives, and they are grateful. They are living a normal, honorable life in their village despite difficulties.

She even says that people ask how she married him and she says that their parents married them and she doesn’t tell them anything more. I’m sure at first she may have been hesitant, but it seems that she has warmed up to having him as her husband. Hey all, I have this same genetic mutation. it effects my right eye. I have had many surgeries over my lifetime. I understand how he feels being born different. those born different has many difficulties but at the same time we got to help some people understand that not everyone looks like they do. i get rude people but i am a lil fire cracker and i do not put up with adult bullies. God bless this man. He has no idea how strong and amazing he is too show the world his uniqueness. It's not that easy. There's no treatment or cure for neurofibromatosis. Sometimes they can remove the growths or use radiation but only if the benefits outweigh the risks. Even when removed the tumors often come back.
