A WOMAN has taken her obsession with mermaids so far that she swims in a tail - and believes that she is a real-life mermaid. Cassia ‘Sia’ Shells lives in Toronto, Canada with her fiancé Adrian. Her love for the mythical sea creatures since childhood, where she collected mermaid dolls. The 29-year-old says she relates to mermaids on a personal level, and in fact she believes that she is a mermaid herself. Follow her story here:

There are so many places that hire mermaids and it's so cool. And there are so many different kinds of careers. Traveling tank shows, aquarium shows, shows like weeki wachee mermaids in florida. Birthday party performers. There's even a bar with a mermaid tank.

In France we had a tvreality show , and a girl was like her, and when she showed her passion for that (she was a professional mermaid, she swims in a huge aquarium in a restaurant) to the guy she dated , he just laughed and she felt ashamed a front of the entire country. Awh... well. She did just weed a bad suitor out at least. I’m obsessed with miniature dolls and dollhouses and furniture, and I’ve told my fiancé and he has only embraced and encouraged it. I feel like if the tail is stiffer/tighter/thicker around the leg part it would actually make the easiest to swim with rather than a thin/loose material? Also because it would give more support to the heavy end of the tail which is clearly more dense on hers. Just something I was thinking about watching how her legs moved when she swam.
