I used to be the second shortest male in my grade, and people like this man’s girlfriend acted like living nightmares toward me. It still irks me to this day even thinking back to it all. Unfortunately I think people are overly hostile to short people even more so now than back when I was the short kid in high school. The experiences I had in high school as a short guy made me cry in the school bathroom on multiple occasions and overall become a lonelier, more reserved person, but I’m still glad I had those experiences because now I can see certain people for who they truly are. Now he's got a torso that's disproportionate to his legs and more than appearance, that's gonna destroy his back. He should have told those people to kiss his brown eye and found somebody who wanted him for him. He's perfect for a woman my height. Edited to add: Honey, you were fine the way you were. You were supposed to be compact and you've messed that up. You think being short is bad, I promise debilitating back pain is worse. And being tall increases the risk of back problems anyway. You've put all that extra stress on a structure that's not up to code. 2-3 inches is no more than you should have done because of that.

Bless this man, I hope that he recovers well. Being out on a date just a few months after the surgery is kind of brave. This kind of surgery was initially offered to little people to improve the quality of life and make many everyday tasks possible and easier. It was aimed at limb straightening and lengthening. Usually proportions remain a bit off with this surgeries, because it is performed mostly on legs, and arms remain as they were before. Later they started to perform surgeries on everyone who wants it. I’ve read stories of girls who wanted to become runway models but were insecure of their height and undergone leg lengthening. Some stories were successful, however some of them weren’t. Any surgery is a risk, and there is always a chance that the body won’t react as we expect it to react. Some stories about leg lengthening were stories of pain and regret. I studied this subject because at some point in my life I was considering this surgery, but after I did my research and found out many risks and possible complications, I decided not to. I am 141 cm (4’8), and in my case, such surgery would only be able to give me 2-3 additional inches, which is not that much of a difference and I felt that it was not worth the risk. I am proportionate and my height is not related to any health condition, and I am much happier with all my limbs intact.
@ciarakristos1119 ай бұрын
💙 You are perfect as you are at 4' 8". As you say, you are proportionate. Being in proportion (and being healthy) is more important. Society would be so boring if everyone was the same height. Variation in appearance is important because we are all different expressions of the same creational force (God). I don't judge people on their height. I tend to notice if people present as healthy and attractive, primarily. I watched a video about the world's shortest woman, Jyoti Amge, yesterday and she is so unbelievably cute and charming. 🤗❤She's under 2 feet tall and suffers from a form of dwarfism, obviously. But she's perfect to me as she is. It's amazing that someone as little as her can light up whole rooms with her presence, but she has a huge, sparkling personality and heaps of positive energy. ✨ Limb-lengthening surgery is far too risky and nobody knows the long-term consequences of it (like, 20, 30 or 40 years down the line). The modified bones in the legs must surely become more vulnerable as the person ages and becomes more fragile (especially a woman). 😣

Nah, it’s not just insecurity. People treat you better when you’re taller. I went from being short to below average height and even then I notice the difference. It’s tiring to be short. There’s little support, people bully you, and getting taller is more relieving than anything. People need to stop being so hostile to short people, but for now, leg lengthening seems to be an alright decision for anyone resilient enough for it.

@@thehoop74 Really? What CIA mind reading tech do you have to know that for sure? I don’t care if you’re short or not, this fake positivity helps no one. I’ve had some pretty nasty bullies in the past, and some rich guy being short doesn’t change any of that. It took me years to find security again after years of being bullied. Heck, it took me an entire year to even start talking to people again. It was lonely not talking to anyone, but I really just was that demoralized. No way am I ever going to undermine what people go through and tell them things are fine when they’re not, I’m going to help them with their problems. I found security knowing my friends and family always have my back, not just some random celebrities’ success story.

Depends what you deem to be messed up proportions. For example a lot of nba players have like +7 inch wingspan to height ratios, and a lot of Olympic runners have “freakishly” long legs, a lot of Olympic swimmers have “freakishly” little legs

It’s frustrating to see the shallow standards that some women uphold when it comes to dating. The obsession with height can overshadow so many other important qualities a person might possess. Imagine being a well-rounded, successful guy who’s confident and caring, yet dismissed solely because he doesn’t meet an arbitrary height requirement! It’s even more disheartening to see shorter women demanding partners who tower over them-talk about irony! Height should never be the sole factor in attraction. Instead, we should be prioritizing character, compatibility, and mutual respect. It’s time to challenge these superficial criteria and recognize that true connection goes far beyond physical attributes. Let’s focus on what really matters in relationships!

It's going to be a full year or even two before his legs are really strong and adjusted. Most surgeries take a year to recover from, surgeons always sell surgeries to take less time! and that can lead to frustration and depression when recover seems to take forever. As well as injuries from pushing to hard. Slow and steady wins the race!

You can accept the hand you were dealt, learn to love your flaws and truly love yourself. That doesn’t mean anyone else ever will. Nor are they obligated to. I’ve met plenty of men and women dying alone in hospice who’ve never been loved. People die alone and unloved every single day.

People get sick of being treated like s**t their whole lives. Everyone subconsciously treats better looking people much more nicely than they do unattractive people. Being unattractive really, really hurts every day - the only way to avoid it is to avoid people. Wanting to improve that situation is completely rational.

Little bit of a contradictory message...'Don't care what anybody thinks, do what makes you happy'. But you do care what people think, that's why you got the surgery. WIth that being said though, I completely support the decision to do so. If we're being brutally honest with ourselves we know for a fact that tall men are treated vastly better than short men. It's just a fact. Rather than try and make the entire world change their mind, this is something you can control with the crazy advancements in technology. I am very interested to see if he ever can regain full mobility.
