What’s also disturbing about this is that Toji most likely felt *everything* Unit 03 was fully activated and synched with Toji before Bardiel took over. Meaning that Toji was piloting a disabled Eva Unit unable to do anything but see and feel what Unit 01 was doing to Unit 03.

because he wanted to help the pilot somehow but he didnt want to cause the pilot any harm because he know even the angel is in control its stil an eva so the pilot would still be synchronized to the eva so the pain is still felt. now imagine how much pain toji felt when 01 was tearing 03 apart
