A year or more late, but wanted to feed the algorithm a little bit and tip my hat to you for listening to this song. This popped up in my suggestions after listening to that version, was nice to hear someone else talk a bit about why I so love it. While I like early Barenaked Ladies albums, Rock Spectacle (which is a live album) remains my favourite thing they put out - there's a fun vibe for the appropriate songs, but there's so much power and emotion in Steven's vocals, including in "Break Your Heart", "Brian Wilson", and "What A Good Boy" - the renditions of those (and "When I Fall") always get to me in somewhat different ways, and I just feel such catharsis in joining in with that "audience participation moment" of this song, like shouting along to a heavy metal tune, lets you get out some of the emotions that may have been building up for one reason or another (maybe tied into the theme of the song, maybe just frustrations from life). This version is by far the best I've heard, the album version holds no candle to it.

The singer is, as others have said, Steven Page, who is, to my mind, one of the greatest singers in rock history. There are so many great songs by this band that you can pretty much pick blindly from their catalog and land on a winner.

Truly love this song. Steven Page vocals on this are astonishing.

Steven Page has one of the best voices in pop/rock history. Saw them about 20 times over the years and they never disappointed,

Still a great song as a studio version, I just love the live version because you can hear the audience belt out that one line, really emphasizing how many people can connect to this song.

Their lyrics were great; their live show was fantastic while Steven Page was there. I took my daughter to see them in '96; shes 43 now, and we still belt out their songs

I’ve been a fan of BNL for over 25 years. I’ve seen them six times and they are one of the best live acts ever. I wish they would bring back Steven Page, the main singer of this song. Please do more BNL, Harri. Be My Yoko Oni, One Week, Brian Wilson, The Old Apartment, If I Had $1,000,000, Pinch Me. You could probably make as many videos reacting to their music as you did for ELO. Lol.

You need more BNL prior to 2002. There is a video for this and some more live shows. "What a Good Boy" Live in New York...you would love it Harri!

I love the Barenaked Ladies even still, but without Steven Page, they just don’t have the VOICE and it’s not the same. I miss the 5 of them together. I have been closely following Page’s career post BNL ❤ I love that man!!

This live version really is much better than the album version. BNL is one of those bands that play as well or better live than in the studio.

One of my faves to do at karaoke if they can play it 😢🎉

I've just stumbled upon your channel and love seeing BNL exposed to new audiences. They're mostly known for their for their fun songs but their message is always deep. Check out Call and Answer, beautiful lyrics, great harmony, one of their best IMO.

agreed. Call and Answer is also one of my favorites by this great band (when Steven Page was in it). The version he does of that song with the choral group after he left BNL is also stunning.

aWeSoMe❣️ never heard this sleeper before 🎶 I first heard "If I Had A Million Dollars" on the local Bozeman Radio in the mid 9os and fell in silly love. You Rock'nSoul Harri ✌️

A lot of their songs have an element of comedy, but this one is one of their more serious ones. My favorite by them is Lovers in a Dangerous Time which has fantastic harmonies. Steven Page (the lead singer on this song) isn't with the band anymore after some conflicts with the other members and some drug problems. I think he has a solo career now. I heard him do the song "Memory" from Cats once during a concert. He was amazing!
