This song is so unique in that in builds up to the final vocal catharsis instead of giving it away early on. Songs that adjust their forms and emotional states add an extra layer of identification between the listener and the singer.

Those songs you listen to during those difficult "times" in your life? my parents were divorcing when I was 10 and I had no friends or siblings or people to talk to or share my burden. Oh my goodness. I haven’t heard this song in over a decade. The nostalgia I’m feeling right now is overwhelming. I’m struggling to fight back tears while smiling because of the memories of my youth. The harmony is stellar. Both of their voices are so beautiful and meaningful and painful and intoxicating. They are a definite vibe. They almost remind me of The Cars, like in a subtle sort of way. I can’t place it. Of course they are their own thing 100%. They just give me the nostalgic, warm, deep feeling I get when I hear The Cars. These bands were both so meaningful and influential in their time. The world seems to have long forgotten about BNL, but God knows I haven’t. And neither have you, if you’re reading this. God bless each and every one of you. Love you all. Take care of yourself and of those you love. Time is fast and fleeting. Literally live every fucking moment like it’s your last…….because it very well could be…….but more than that - if you love someone - TELL THEM. RIGHT NOW. Don’t let another SECOND slip away without letting the person you love know it. SAY IT. Tell them. I promise they need to hear it. Hell, we all do…….♥️🙏🏽🙌🏽♥️♾️

Such a sad song. I listened to this a lot when my ex and I split in 2010. We shared a child and we had to manouver an amicable relationship after a betrayal for the sake of our son. This is the first time I’ve listen to it in a very long time and can happily say that we now are friends and have both moved on. Painful process that this song spoke to (at least to me).

Nobody cares. I'm sick of overdramatic people like you who live their lives like it's a goddamn dramatic series or something. Someone like me isn't even allowed to look at a woman. Do you understand that? I'm not even allowed to LOOK at a woman or even entertain the thought of ever having a relationship, but then I have to see all the disgusting overprivileged people like you whose entire life revolves around f***ing relationships and the overdramatic bullshit of them, acting like you're in a goddamn soap opera all the time, and like the entire world revolves around your need to just have someone to rub genitals with, when people like me will never even know what that's like and have to struggle just to keep our sanity. I hate you.

yes yes yes yes yes, however it would never be the same as before. I like Steve's solo work, but there's just enough difference in it that I think there could be a bigger rift. I like a bunch of their post-Steve work over the last 10 years, but it's never been the same. BNL just started a Tik-Tok channel and Ed has been giving some background on some songs and is having some open and healthy discussion/description on things that Steve worked on with them. it seems that there may finally be some piece on his side of things.
