My first sub 3 is the most intense memory of my life. My mom had passed 2 weeks prior, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and they gave her at least a year to live & she made it about 2 months. I turned the corner and saw my 8.5 month pregnant wife cheering me on and the clock read 2:57, I cried my eyes out the past 200 meters. It was the hardest thing I’d ever accomplished and my life was the cheering me on. There was a 0 percent chance I wasn’t hitting my goal that day

I've ran 10 marathons. Seen lots of different body types on the course but never seen a guy with this kind of muscle structure even attempt to run sub 7 minute miles for a full marathon. Only other guy that I can think of with a similar upper body build as Nick that has ran a 3 hour marathon range is Tom Holland (author of the Marathon Method). This is beyond impressive and as a guy myself that has always held a lot more upper body muscle mass (mostly in the chest) Nick is making me believe that a Boston qualification is possible. Amazing that he did this with no crowd and no headphones... Just one crazy guy screaming at him from a golf cart. Lol.

Pretty easy to run a marathon distance in under 3 hours when the track is completely flat with running partners to push you. What, is he hoping the Boston Marathon qualifying officials will see this and take pity on him that he can't actually run a sub-3H at an official marathon?
@mumberto35572 жыл бұрын
@@thepsychologist8159 why are you spamming this, id like to see you run just a mile
@thepsychologist81592 жыл бұрын
@@mumberto3557 "id like to see you run just a mile" - Well I went for a 6 mile (10km) run this morning, so I guess that pretty much nullifies your argument. - When I completed a marathon in under 3H, I was operating my own business and at the same time, I was the primary care-giver of my three young children. Nick Bare doesn't have any kids, he has every opportunity to train, but he still can't run an official sub--3H for the marathon. Hint: if Nick Bare dramatically reduced the weight training and reduced his overall weight and body mass, he'd achieve his goal of running an official sub-3H for the marathon... but he won't, because he wants to look like a macho-man at the same time. As they say, "Jack of all trades, master of none". - Why am I spamming this? Because Nick Bare is not a runner, in fact, he's far from it and he's often stated this. He is, and always will be, just a body builder. So why does he attempt to try and be a runner? Because he's like one of those pathetic wanna-be's who wants to be seen that way, that he can be like the elites. He sees himself as some type of leader, or that he has leadership qualities, just because he served in the military (in one of the lowest rankings). Everything he says, everything he does, he takes or has taken from all the other running coaches and yet he portrays that he developed the concepts himself and not once does he acknowledge where he learned it from. Sh!t, how old is he? He talks and acts as if he's lived on this planet for over 50 years. He acts as if he's got the wisdom of Solomon, yet in reality he has the naivety of a freshmen. - The sheer fact that he's tried to take a leaf out of Kipchoge's book to run an 'assisted' marathon. Oh please, how pretentious. It makes me laugh that he treated this as a 'marathon' when it's a 'marathon distance' (big difference) and even Kipchoge acknowledged this when he achieved the sub-2H. Nick Bare has never run a sub-3H at an official marathon event and because he knows he'll likely never achieve it, to avoid embarrassment he then has to do something like this to 'prove' he can do it. No, No. He can't do it. As I said, it's easy (easier) to run a marathon in under 3H when it's a completely flat track with pacing assistance. Why do you think professional coaches instruct a runner to run at their 'tempo' pace on a flat track? Why do you think elite runners do 'easy runs' on a flat track? - Nick Bare has a superiority complex and I just love it how in every second vlog, he has to mention that he's a CEO (self appointed of course) or that he's been flying around the country .... BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. Ah, reality check Nick, that information isn't necessary or even relevant to the topic, so why even say it, unless you have an elevated ego? - Nick Bare seriously needs to stop trying to be like others (who are and will always be better than him), stop trying to be someone he's not and, he seriously needs to give himself a reality check and lose the elevated ego (wrapped in a superiority complex). - Nick Bare needs to understand others have achieved all these things, but still remain humble and have such humility, and they don't need to mention a single word. Why? Because actions speak louder than words - by their achievements alone, they are respected.

Yes, along with the fabricated marathon distance (not an official marathon) on a flat track, he was doing his best to erase the memory of his failed attempt at the 2020 Austin Marathon to prove to the world he could run a sub-3H. @@sebastianholmes5020 Still a good effort. I'm sure you've got your own training plan, but the one key element to training for a marathon is easy-pace long runs. When I went from running half-marathons to full marathons, this is the key thing I focused on - time under feet. I also did more strength training because you need your core to hold up, especially after the 30km mark (this is when many people start to suffer because their body begins to fail). I know someone who's pretty good for the HM (1:43:00) but really trails off for the marathon (4:30:00). When I asked him about his training for the marathon, he said he really didn't put in much more training than for the HM. And looking at his times, I could see after 25km and especially from 30km, his km/mile times just kept getting slower and slower.

Hey nick! Just want to say a massive congrats on hitting the sub 3! I've probably watched every video you've made so know how hard you've worked to get there! I love the fact that you've shouted out your team who've guided you through this, and you can see how much you enjoy being a part of a team from all of your BPN videos. Very jealous that I'm not part of your team. Keep going mate. GO ONE MORE

This is better than anything I watch on TV or any streaming site. You should seriously consider making your next Ironman prep like a legitimate tv show style thing where you do 1-2 30 minute episodes per week on KZbin. These videos inspire 10s of thousands of athletes to get out there and push their limits. Awesome job.

Love this video. Finally a runner/IM who can keep his weight on while running sub-7s. He's a massive inspiration. Not only is he tracking for speed, but he's keeping his calories on him!!! That's double the discipline and work. Fucking love it.

@thepsychologist81592 жыл бұрын
"and now you’re cruising sub 3 hour marathons" - Incorrect. A marathon distance, not a marathon (event). A marathon distance on a completely flat track with buddies to help him along the way is a whole lot easier. I await his 'official' sub-3H marathon time at an 'official' marathon event.

@thepsychologist8159 Жыл бұрын
"The cinematography was top notch" - Yes, along with the fabricated marathon distance (not an official marathon) on a flat track, he was doing his best to erase the memory of his failed attempt at the 2020 Austin Marathon to prove to the world he could run a sub-3H. Come forward to his 'success' at the Buffalo Marathon, he now needs to go back and run the Austin Marathon that's kicked his ass twice, to prove he can run that course in sub-3H
