The Walmart bargain bins are my jam for good cheap plastics. I have caught a ton of fish on those beaver and crawl baits from there. Great video, and congrats to RAE... KZbin just brought your channel on my feed...Liked and Subscribed!!

The guides on that rod are definitely an issue, if casting makes that much noise there’s excessive resistance going through the guides

We’re thinking it was the braided line against those lower end guides. It was awful!

@@kastqueens it very well could be especially with cheaper braids. I build rods and speak from experience how much different guide types will effect braid moving through them

casting distance usually depends on line weight. and lure. so might just need to adjust the line size on it. what chest mount do you use for your phones? nice vid and fish.

We are going to try some lighter line to see if it makes a difference. Fingers crossed because we’d love to be able to give it to someone. We use the Telesin magnetic neck mounts

Maybe the knot to the leader is hanging up on the guides, try using an FG knot

We made sure it wasn’t reeled past the guide. We’re going to try lighter line and see if it makes any difference 🤞

Hi from méxico, I don’t like to use braid line, I like mono or fluro and depends of the technique, there is a sufix braid and it’s good, better to use finesse techniques on spinning combo medium fast and a casting medium heavy to use Carolina or Texas or a spinnerbaits, I make plastic lures would be could send you some and try it there where you live

Don't look down on YUM baits..they work, dump that cheap temu pink line, & lastly fish that swamp & garbage loaded water, the biguns will probably be there

You’re using braided line on a pole designed for monofilament.try switching the line

Low pound braid should be fine on a rod and reel with these specs. But I’m thinking this cheap braid is just too thick of a diameter, we’ll see.

I was thinking that some rods aren't designed to be used with a weightless rig. I've had rods that couldn't throw a lure 20 feet, but add a couple medium split shot and cast halfway across a lake.

The first 13 rod from hearing the line slap in the guides sounds like four strand braid was being used stainless guides on lower end rods slow course lines down a lot . you can try an eight strand braid mono or fluorocarbon Yum's in the bargain bin at Walmart are hit or miss usually they are a smaller size or less baits per pack normal retail pack of dingers have 10 bargain bin has six

The eyelets slowing that braid down is exactly what we were thinking. We are going to slap some mono on it to see if it helps

@@kastqueens the rod is grate there made with ice eyes for cold weather but grate rod for jerk baits and swimbaits they was $20 on amason idk what they run now

It could have been the reel and we just blamed the rod? It’s rated high everywhere else and 13 fishing is such an awesome brand I know it’s either defective or a simple fix.
