Goku acted that way in manga especially during buu saga where he ki blasts elder kai,asks videl gender,asks how 18 gave birth to baby etc. etc. Its because there's peace before things get serious. Imo 98% of the Future Trunks arc was really good, I just didn’t like how they wrapped it up. There were moments in the universe survival arc that I absolutely hated and moments that had me in awe. I actually liked Super more when I started to look at Akira toriyamas work as a whole. It was more lighthearted and comedic like the rest of his work. I think DBZ was the anomalies but I appreciate it for what it was

I took it as he made the meal for him 160 years ago the first time he had the meal. That was the first time he ever had it and this is the second time he's ever had the meal which was made fairly recently. Although 160 years isn't that bad if the meal was saved frozen for 160 years Also depending on what The food was made out of considering that you know honey can last a thousand years there could be other food sources in the universe that could just last for ridiculously long periods of time maybe they put it in a pocket dimension where it's out of time and it can't rot or anything like that. I mean you're dealing with gods here so since all gods are fictional you can do whatever you want with them. You know just look at the fiction of the over 18,000 deities that humans have created in this world.

If you look at Akira toriyamas catalogue as a whole, DBZ is the outlier. Most of his work is lighthearted in nature and comedic except for DBZ which had a more serious tone throughout its entire storyline. If you take in the series as a whole You’ll realize that DBS fits right in with the rest of akira toriyamas work

Goku got reverted to the goku at the bginning of dragon ball z because they couldnt do this type of added character developemnt for him wiothout reverting his character. Youll notice hes more childish in this series compared the development her gained in z. The issue wit Vegeta’s character in Super is he takes a big step back from where he ended in Z… After Buu he accepts that Goku is the best, but now we are right back to him wanting to be stronger than him.

No wrong Vegetas Chrackter devvelopes more than ever. He recognize finally that he just can not follow Goku and try to reach his level, because Goku is always stronger and at least one step ahead. Now finally Vegeta goes his own way and following the path of the God of Destruction, while Goku goes the way of an angel. Vegeta will never reach mastered ultra instinct, but Goku never reached his level of destruction. The split of them is firstly really to be recognized in the tournament of power, when Vegeta ascended SSJG Blue, what Goku could not achive. But Goku could awake and even master ultra instinct.

During the Tournament of Power he comes to the same realization that he did during Buu, that he wont surpass Goku, and has to make his own path. It takes 3 additional story arcs (Gods, Resurrection, & Zamasu) to get him to the same place he was at the end of Z.

As I said in the other comment reply, it takes 3 storylines in Super to get him to the same place as the end of Z; accepting that he and Goku have different paths to power. His fight with Toppo in the Tournament of Power was great! That is the Vegeta I want to see, not the same one from Namek and Cell Sagas that only wants to surpass and kill Goku...

Madison should have just watched the z kai dub before watching Super because thats where Bulmas voice came from. And the Kai dub portrayed Goku better and didn't make him seem like a super hero. So that way all the voice changes wouldn't have thrown her off. Or maybe you guys can go rewatch Kai Z after Super because the dialogue is way different and the music too? Just a suggestion.

Nah, Nobody is saying characters in Super are ruined because they are soft or whatever. Super regresses characters, takes them backwards and that is the problem, it is the total opposite of ”natural progression” of the characters. Goku’s IQ is suddenly 0, where as through out Dragon Ball and Z we have seen him be goofy but clearly become more intelligent as he grew up from a kid. Vegeta finally accepted Goku as his friend and admitted him being number one, sybolizing he finally was able to rest the obsession to surpass him etc. Yet in Super they just forced the character back into that mold of being pissed at Goku about everything and being obsessed ablut surpassing him again. This latter one hurts even more because I had been reading the fan fiction Dragon Ball Multiverse for years, even before Super was even a concept, and they so beautifully portray Vegeta after the peace he found in himself during the Kid Buu fight. To this day, that is the true continuation of that character to me vecause it is *easily* the most accurate one. Super’s Vegeta just feels, I don’t know, off somehow. They are just trying too hard to keep his attitude problems in his character despite him growing out of it at the end of Z, just so the character is recognizable for people after so many years of no Dragon ball.

You should definitely read Super Manga. Its different to anime version. In Black saga alone Vegeta asked Goku and others to get back to main timeline and he would hold Zamasu/black for a while and also asks Goku to do fusion,also asks trunks to train with him,Vegeta also saves namekians in moro saga,he also asks Goku "dont die kakarot" and plenty more moments. Regarding Vegeta wanted to surpass thing,it was established even back during 2004 itself where Toriyama added new bit of ending to end of Z where Vegeta says he wanted to defeat Goku in Tournament. So thats Vegeta still proceeds to surpass Goku one day. Its not really Super's thing because Toriyama stated that ending back in 2004 he altered some of Z ending and added few parts for manga. You can search it out. Goku aswell is much better in manga tbh. I suggest you to read manga version its much better.
