Moments like this scream really makes me miss Steph’s voice for cell saga gohan. Don’t get me wrong, Colleen does excellent as normal kid gohan and has a much more believable kid voice but steph knocked it out the park whenever she had to play an angry gohan. (I miss her kid Goku too...)

The original dub's use of 16's empathetic speech and Cell's callous dismissal of his final words, accompanied by Cell's use of "My way" is perfectly paired with TFS' musical expression of this iconic moment in anime history. This is the reason why DBZA is not only an unignorable medium through which the story of Dragonball Z can be experienced, but proof that their parody show has enhanced the memory of these iconic moments, far beyond what could have been achieved emotionally by the initial release.

I would only amend what you said about DBZA being a parody. In the beginning, especially Season 1, yes it was a total parody, but as it developed it became more of a homage to the original. And music scores like “Day of Fate” are proof of that.

I love the different variations of Cell’s final line before the transformation. The original Japanese one where he just calls 16 worthless scrap, being callous. The TFS version of “he never had a soul” which is so cutting. But this one is so good too, that final taunt to Gohan “Yet another fighter, you could’ve saved.” Just that “if you had been as strong as you say, if you had done something; he’d still be alive”. Then mixing in the TFS cover of Spirit vs Spirit; Cell needs to rethink his name because this is what true perfection is.

His friends and comrades die because he is too afraid of his own power Tien,Chaozu, Piccolo, Vegeta ,Krillin ,Dende if only Gohan go all out in the first place they wouldn’t die for his own weak childish way of thinking of “not fighting”. 16 remind him that he have a power to do it but he didn’t and then all of his mistakes flow into his head and then it’s explode. The moment that I could say that it have the greatest emotion impact in Dragonball, the guilt the vengeance Gohan release all that he have hold back since young and throw all of it on Cell.

See this, this right here has impact instead of the techno synth dribble Bruce Faulconer gave us. In the original I didn’t know this was meant to be a massive moment cause the music changed but it was the same style as everything else, but when the vocals kicked in for the Japanese and of course TeamFourStar amazing version of this scene you knew how important this was. Android 19 proved robots can feel fear, Dr Gero proved tht robots have back up plans, 16 proved robots can love.

Imo the dub's extra talking during the transformation kinda ruins it a little. In both the Japanese and TFS versions, Gohan is completely silent before his transformation. The music plays after the transformation with no interruptions. In the dub, Gohan has that whole inner speech that kinda takes away from the moment, and then at the end the narrator starts talking. Sometimes silence speaks louder than words
