Shvetsov ASh-82T radial engine startup current measurement

Start current measurement of a Shvetsov ASh-82T radial engine. The engine utilizes an inertia starter, where a flywheel is accelerated to a speed of about 20000-22000 rpm by a series-excited electric motor. This flywheel is then geared and coupled to the main crankshaft to start the engine. For starting the whole aircraft is powered by two EnerSYS/Hawked SBS40 batteries for a 24V system. Peak inrush current of 910Apk is measured, when the full power is applied to the inertial starter while the flywheel is stopped.
