Just ordered my third Bark River knife the Bravo 1 LT and it has that Blue C-Tek omg these new handle materials are really nice. I'm kind of bored with wood handles after seeing them for years and years it's cool to see these new materials. CPM-3V all the way!

Lighter with a Full Convex grind. What's not to like? I have a BlackJack knife in full convex grind and love it.

Say Heah Dutch, Yeah the Bravo Line by Bark River are Aces. Infact the Bravo 1 was my first B R. I have (3) and yeah the Bravo 1 is one of my Fav's I have (2) in 3V and One in A2, But I find the Bravo 1 as is to be perfect for me and how I use my knives in the bush. I even like the ramp. Thanx for sharing a great knife.

I am getting the LT, after watching your channel. .... It's only because of the weight. Besides, I have an ax.

nice review as always. I don't have any bark river yet but I'm planning to get one soon, so, if you should choose one between bravo lt and gunny what would you prefer and in which steel?
@ketodad8 жыл бұрын
Subbed and following you guys. I have many Bravo 1.25"s in .217. (3V) When they came out with the LT I kinda thought I should have gotten those , but after hard reflection I actually like the thicker one. It's a lot stiffer with what looks like a stronger point and still does all the wood stuff I need it to do. I can do feathers no problem and don't mind the solid weight. I can always pair it with a woodcarving knife if need be , but If I had to carry only one knife I'd be able to do anything with the knife I had to. There's 10's of thousands of Bravo owners out there with the .217 thick knives who are very happy with them , me included. It's like a custom Becker BK-2 with much better performance for a one-tool option.Imho.

a bravo 1.25 is perfect in my book. The regular bravo is just a tiny bit too short for real batonning. The 1.25 is the most versatile of the line I think
@ketodad8 жыл бұрын
I agree. I have the 1 , 1.25 , and 1.5 and a 5" blade I think is the sweet spot for a bushknife although any of those will work.

Hello from the UK Really enjoying the vids, well filmed with great presentation. Any chance of some Linder knives being reviewed? I've got a few and think they are a bit overlooked. I'm sure you lads could put them through their paces. All the best, Matty.

Hey Matthew, we have a linder machete. It's amazing for it's price. I'm sorry to say we are probably not going to do any vidoes on linder soon.. thanks a lot for the compliments! it's really appreciated! cheers!

Did you need to reprofile or regrind you gunny to make it thinner before using it for bushcraft and feathersticking?
@DutchBushcraftKnives6 жыл бұрын
No the gunny is pretty good. We do always sharpen it before we use it

Dutch Bushcraft Knives is it capable of making as fine feather sticks as a scandi grind?
@frederikkjaer41706 жыл бұрын
Dutch Bushcraft Knives I only have mainly Scandinavian knives, so id like to know: what are the benefits of convex over scandi? Isn't scandi better for woodworking? Remember I have no experience using any convex knives.
@reece_75676 жыл бұрын
convex are usually stronger because there is more steel behind the apex, scandis are better for wood biting and carving but convex are also pretty good for those too, oh and uh...... scandivex

Hi guys, where you buying your knifes from? I always wanted to have one descent knife, and decided to go for Bravo 1 LT 3V, but over here in UK is very lack of choice, the only one I can get rampless is micarta black and I have to wait about 6 months to get it.

DBK, what do you guys think about the 1.25 and 1.5? My blackjack tac ops 4 is about the same size as the bravo 1 so i want the ergonomics of the bravo without being redundent haha
@DutchBushcraftKnives8 жыл бұрын
I think the bravo 1.25 would make one of the best allround knives on the market. Excellent handle geometry and IMO one of the best blade lengths. The bravo 1 is a tiny bit too short to be a fantastic batonner. It's good but the bravo 1.25 would be perfect. -stay sharp mate!
@cabinman44938 жыл бұрын
Jordan, I have six Bravo's, the 1.25 is my favorite. Not to long, not to short and has the amazing Bravo 1 handle, you cant go wrong. CPM 3V is the way to go. I have A2, 3V and Elmax, but 3V is the BOMB!!!!!

Which steel will you prefer for a survival purpose? Elmax or 3V? I am keen to get a smaller bark river knife to match with my bark river grizzly.
@DutchBushcraftKnives8 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, For survival purpose I prefer Elmax as it is completely stainless. On a very large blade however I would prefer 3v because of the extra toughness. Elmax is perfect for smaller blades.
@noxnox27218 жыл бұрын
Hey there, thanks for the prompt reply. The reason I am asking is that virtuovice did mentioned that he did had some inital chipping on his elmax bark river. Agree with you on Elmax being stainless. Guess its a balance between choosing toughness and choosing stainless :)
@DutchBushcraftKnives8 жыл бұрын
I think Wako had most chipping on his fox river which was thinner than normal. His elmax gunny does 5 deers while his 3v does 2-3 deers if I remember correctly. In my experience my Elmax has better edge retention than 3v. I haven't had any chips yet on my Gunny elmax. I do believe elmax is more chippy than 3v that why I would prefer 3v on larger blades. Toughness isn't a big concern for me with small knives like gunny.

Say Heah Double M, Awh Yeah. This is what I'm talking about. But in this size, I don't unsterstand making it lighter. No, problem, What makes guys boats float. I myself, don't mind the weight of my Bravo 1 Infact the Bravo 1 was my first Bark aRiver Knife. From that I teamed it with the Bravo 2 both with ramps. Then I got the Woodland Special and then the Golok. I still laugh at my Golok, because I got the rounded blunt tip and it L@@Ks like a Big Ole Butter knife. But I don't laugh at it when I cut close to the ground. It doesn't stick into the ground making it a awesome knife in the bish, Infact its my Leiku Type Knife, Its a Full Tang and made in A2. Infact this Set is all A2 and all have the Ghost Green Jade Handles in G-10. Then my other Bravo 1's are in the 3V. I like the knife so much that the fought of loosing it, I bought another one. Yeah, Its my shortest blade Survival Knife I have. Usually I like a 7"-7 1/2" for my Survival Knives then I team them up with a shorter blade. But with my Bravo 1 I could team it with a larger knife or just one of my 2Hawks either my Warbeast Tomahawk which only sounds Tactical but a great chopper for my bushcraft trips or my Double Bit Hatchet which is a very close copy of Nessmuks Double Bit Hatchet. Yeah, My 3V Bravo 1 fits right at home with these vhoppers. Don't get ne wolronh, It feels at home with my G.B. Small Forster Axe or my 17" H.B. Agdor Hatchet plus a Saw. I've used my Bravo 1 in many configurations and it preforns great in anyway I use it. Yeah, Its a great knife and design, I could really understand why its so popular. It's Simply TiTs.,,.

+paulie 4x I agree. We don't need a lot version. What I especially don't understand is that they made a lot version of the aurora. I actually like a little weight on my knives. It gives them a robust feel.
