Hi guys, I’ve re-uploaded this video. I removed it after videos like this were being deleted. I’m now convinced it wasn’t KZbin or a brand, but rather a troll attacking popular videos. Commercial channels like Watchfinder haven’t removed any of their videos like this, so I shouldn’t need to either. If KZbin try to remove this, I’ll be filing a strongly worded complaint! I had a fake omega first. 4 seconds fast per day. Fantastic, and within spec for a metas chronometer. For 500 I was chuffed. However, my real smp300 gets off by 1 second about every 3 days despite my working around powerful magnets daily that have affected ever watch I've owned prior. The movement is where that extra money goes That's what you're paying for.

Long ago, my Rolex Daytona was stolen during a break-in at my home. I received some insurance money for it but rather than purchase a new one, I invested those funds. The idea of parking 20k in a watch no longer appealed to me. I still LOVE the look of the Daytona so I bought a super clone and have had it for 6 years. It still looks good and works well. No one can tell the difference. If it breaks, I'll throw it away but until then, I'll continue to enjoy it. And enjoy watching my investments grow (thank you Mr. Bezos).

Homage brands make exact case/dial/bracelet etc, the only thing missing is the OMEGA on the dial. I wish people would own up to the fact that they like how that name brand makes them feel, and how others may perceive them. Furthermore, these workers in the factories making these replicas aren't exactly paid fair wages, work in an environment with proper safety standards or get and benefit or health insurance,... but who cares right ? Actually that is the nice thing about Omega featuring mainly display casebacks these days: it makes it extraordinarily easy to spot a fake. This movement isn't a clone of the 8800. It is just a Chinese clone of an ETA 2824 with a faux decorated plate sitting on top. And, while well done, is still fake. The "escapement" and full bridge that sit on top are totally fake and inoperable. This is an older one that doesn't even have the mainspring retention screw on the lever, though, the newer ones do. Regardless, in either case, you can still see the real escapement underneath, as it is just a standard Swiss Lever, NOT a co-axial. Very few replica houses actually replicate an in house movement (I believe there is a Rolex Daytona super clone that does). The majority simply use a Chinese manufactured ETA clone, and I am aware of no one who has ever cloned an Omega co-axial escapement, so you can always see the standard Swiss lever under the faux bridge.

@@gazzer92 well it was last year there was a big Australian KZbin channel that out of nowhere got deleted for showing some replica watches and other channels got videos deleted. I don't know if it has changed now, but haven't heard anything dramatic. I know it's a fine line, but you could argue that a popular german brand like Steinhart makes a lot of Rolex look a like, but they don't get sued or banned. Amazon also sells plenty of Rolex/ Omega rip offs , so I think the watch community was shocked they got targeted , they just love and discuss watches.

My mom owns 4 Omega Watches. She bought them from legitimate authorized dealers/jewelry stores, but not direct from Omega stores. Only one has the date on the warranty card. 🤷🏼‍♀️. We bought matching watches one time, and hers didn’t have the date on the warranty card, but mine did. Chances are that it was an AD that didn’t put the date on the card and it was real. But if you don’t feel comfortable without the date input I completely understand. Just sharing my experience.

One of the best videos I have seen comparing a fake to the real thing. The Chinese are just not capable of same level of craftsmanship as the Swiss. Please do a pressure text on the fake, I have heard others say that you don't want to take the fakes underwater :)

I found one that says constellation on front but on back it says stainless steel water resistant. All others I saw had a picture on the back. Assuming it’s a fake. Some of the diamonds have come out and are missing. Found it at an antique store.

@Nigel Molesworth people who make comments like these have no self confidence and need a 'justification' for owning a replica. God forbid, they get caught wearing a replica and what is everyone going to think? At the end of the day, 99% of the people will not know whether the watch is a real or a fake. You should be buying any watch for yourself, unless you have some inferiority complex issues. These watches can be had for $5k US and I own one along with many other watches. Theres some insider information suggesting that Swissarex has access to the Rolex database and uses the same codes on their watches as the original ones. Because of this, its nearly impossible to distinguish them as fakes.

Do a pressure test and destroy them. The hydraulic channel did that with a few watches and put them in a watet pressure chamber to Subjected them to around 300 m depth of water pressure and destroyed the watches

Before its gone test it to see what it's really like someone else has suggested water resistance I think see how it copes with a powerful magnet and then shock resistance with a drop test, getting progressively higher.

Instead of going the nuclear/flashy route that ppl suggest to destroy the watch, you could have a video with no speaking where you slowly take it apart. Would have the same vibe as those watchmaker restoration videos. And then maybe destroy the parts.

I kind of agree with your point about fakes watches , , but , , some people will never afford real/authentic watches , and the fakes are getting better , and owning a fake of something does show some kind of/level of admiration and appreciation of the real product , , , DON'T DESTROY THE WATCHES , , , send them to me , i will definitely appreciate the style of the fakes and i enjoy wearing a different watch every day , even if you want something for them , if i can afford them . Obvious fake on the right at 1:57, look at the 12 o'clock indicators, one is slanted and has inconsistent bezel thickness. The color of the red looks goofy and the dial's wave textures are just painted on vs actually being recessed.

It’s almost a year after you made this video. I can give you the reason I bought a fake. I’ve been waiting for a real Daytona for about 5 years. I love the look of it. And I’m not gonna pay someone almost double or triple MSRP. SO ….I bought an expensive fake. I love it. And I never ever desire to part with my money to Rolex again. (I have a real Batman, sub, and yacht master) F Rolex. They have made it so impossible to get a Daytona, that I no longer wish to ever give their dealers money again
