Love your work and explanation, very satisfying work I imagine.

this is so interesting and honest! Ive seen cobblers be like hairdressers where they can do the cut they can do and are unwilling when you try and steer them around some options or ask for alternatives lol

We are no better, try getting either of them to do a riding boot zip, no chance 😂

@ hahaha I’m sure there’s true craft and sensible considerations behind all the refused requests

That's a great alternative solution applied! But my word that's incredible wear in six months!

The dates might have been off, if you are heavy on your feet it happens.

That "Topy Rug" material looks good. I think I'd perfer that to Dainite soles that can be slippery at this time of year on wet leaf mulch . Also Dainite rubber goes very hard and slippery when the cold weather arrives and it's below freezing. In those conditions I usually wear footwear with the Vibram Vlite (similar to the XL soles on the Barker's shown) or Vibram Christy wedge soles that both work well on slippery smooth surfaces and remain soft(ish) in the cold.

As usual, a very useful consumer friendly video. I have an unrelated question for you: what is your opinion regarding ECCO shoes? Are they well made and are they repairable?
@shoehealer88532 ай бұрын
David so sorry for the late reply, but the shops gone mad!!! Busy. It's the time of year when all the boots and heavy shoes come out, and customers realise they put them away, needing repairs done. Ecco shoes are lovely and comfortable, but we don't see that many coming in for repair. As long as the uppers and linings are OK we can usually do something with the soles and heels. Unfortunately we can't get the original sole units but there are lots of products out there that would work fine. I think we need a video on this subject of moulded sole repairs. Antony

Goodness that’s some wear in so short a time. Did you talk him into another pair?

When you are heavy on your feet that’s what happens, no I don’t think so🥲
