Very interesting build, who knew that a simple little bike like that could shake out so many issues. Might wanna run some split ring washers on them exhaust studs and that should solve your loosening issue. All in all a very enjoyable sunday watch...As always thanks for inviting me along...

I love watching it all come together! now I have no fear of bringing an old bike back to life. the 70s bikes are so cool, and they are still out there just tucked away needing some attention

In 82 I had a 125 XL and my friend had the SL. The SL was much lighter and I think more fun. Still not easy to corner as the CofG was high. I loved my XL. It looked classic with white mud guards and red tank. Drove it from North to South Wales all the way it rained and have never been so soaked! Quite an adventure for a 125cc bike! The SL though is so light and a lot of fun. I really felt the tension as you went through changing the damaged sprockets, hoping it would turn out right. Thanks for a great series!

Loved following your build of this 125. It's a great little bike. I rode a CL90 back in the day, for tens of thousands of miles and love the smaller displacement bikes. Good job. Give us an update once in a while.....

Great series! I owned an early 70's SL70 around 1982 and this brings back so many memories, especially the sound of the engine when you wind it up! My family thinks I am nuts for staring at my computer screen for hours on end watching you wrench on this thing but it is the cheapest therapy out there. Keep up the good work!

SL Hondas were and still are such beautiful bikes and the engineering on these bike were so well sorted out. I had a SL 350 in 1972 , and I've has so many other bikes since, but I must say the SL 350 was the best. Your SL125 look great and I'm sure by the time you finish, it will be a lovely nostalgic bike. When I was a young teenager, this bike was new, and friends of mine owned this bike and similar, which they use to let me ride occasionally. So seeing and hearing it go down the road brings back memories. They were great bikes back then, and still are. It is hard for me to believe they are still running after all these decades.

My old lady says I can't watch your videos anymore because it's bringing back memories of my youth and makes me watch craigslist for more projects to drag home. I told her I will as soon as she stops shopping online for more shoes and dresses and hand bags when she already has a closet full . I got a bike similar to this in the early 80s for $60 and had to replace the gasket between the two half of the engine , big job ! When I then sold it for $350 I felt like a handy smart 19 year old winner. I now feel stupid for flipping all the good deals I came across back then that I should have kept. Like a 65 Mustang I got for $150 and drove home and later sold for $450. Can I give you $350 for that bike ? LOL .

Nice man! i like the older bikes. When i was 12 way way back in the early 80s my first dirt bike i bought myself for $75 was a 79 yamaha dt 250. It was a 2stroke i used to have to lean it to a tree to get on and kick it but i brought it back from the dead. Found it in a shed some older guy had it hardly road it so it suffered from just sitting.that bike never left me stranded four four yrs or so i road that thing every where. When i turned 17 i used my dads 66 650 bsa for my road test. Yes right side shift made for a fun experience on the figure eight test lol. I then found a 79 yamaha xs 650 was like new with 500 miles on it and ten yrs of garage dust. She was black and chrome. It was then i learned all about duel points ignition systems what fun ,not really lol but good experience again. That bike still runs to this day and im now in my 40s. Im diggin your channel bud. Keep up the great work

Hey mustie, congratulations on the bike. That's one groovy little bike. Years back I had a bike like that. 75 Honda XL 100. Some say that Honda didn't make a XL 100 but that's what the bike said as well as the title. I sure do miss it. I have a 82 Honda CB 650 4 cylinder and a 87 Honda Goldwing GL 1200. They both have been sitting in the garage a very long time. They both ran when I parked them. Stopped riding due to back injury. A little better now. I want to start riding again. Have fun and happy riding. Take care my friend

Was a old car that we found yrs. ago, headlight fit the old bikes, MUCH cheaper, can't remember what it was, maybe a VW? Something round and small obviously, anyone remember what it is, put it in so we all know again, seems it was a old Honda car or something. Had originally thought that I wouldn't have put that much time/work/parts into a 125, or anything under a 250, but the series reminded me the answer to the question people ask me of "why do you restore those old bikes?" and my answer always is "it sure beats walking" and that old Honda does, think in the early 1900's, how much they would like something like that to get you places faster than a horse, with a lot less droppings behind it ;) Great series, and great video as always, hope you did a gasket or cap for that tank, and finished off the rest of it, as that work you put in deserves finishing off!
