I'd like to see it with a modern-day front wheel drive unit it to give it great performance and a smooth ride. Then finish the interior to a plush finish with as many rows of seats that will fit in it. It would make a great family vacation travel van, with everybody having a window seat. Great episode!

I’d like to see a full restoration. This brings memories of when I worked out of these vans for deliveries and appliance repair. The ones I drove had the 240ci six and three on the tree too. I remember there was a grease fitting on shifter shaft behind the grill that nobody greased and then you couldn’t move the shift lever. One guy I worked with actually broke the shaft. Heater made noise but not much heat.

Old cars, tractors, motorcycles and boats were all fair game. In my thirties I swore off rebuilding drum breaks, and exhaust systems. It has been decades science Dad and I turned a wrench, and he went home to be with the Lord many years ago. I miss him a lot. This show just reminds me of the days working with Dad on his cars and mine. Looking back now holding that flash light in all the wrong places were good times. I got it from my dad and e tried for a couple of years to blow the motor to give him a reason to do a V8 swap. I got it a drove it to Orlando Florida from North Georgia and back for my senior trip. This is a great episode loved every second of it!! I had a 74 Ford Econoline Van that my father gave to me as a kid at 17 yrs old. That van was my all time favorite and was a dream of ours to customize it. It was a white working construction van. When i got it I repainted it to Maroon body and painted the bumpers black and did the customize work inside it. Watching this brings alot of fond memories of driving that 3 on a tree Ford. Was always reliable and easy to fix. Wish I hadn't sold it ugh....

@@bertgrau3934 If I remember correctly, they were geared down because of that. I remember driving vans like that and they were great around town but they ran out of revs at freeway speeds. At 65, it was revving its heart out. Kept waiting for it to shift into high gear (even though it was there). I think they changed from this style to the new one in mid ‘94. I’m feeling old because I was a mechanic at McDonald Ford on Mack Ave. in Detroit and did new-car prep from the factory. I prepped many of these and remember the new vans coming out, I’m sure, in ‘94. Thanks for the memories!

Those old Ford straight 6s are almost indestructible. My dad ran a construction company and he put that f150 with a strait 6 through its paces on the week days then pulled a camper and a boat behind the camper on the weekends. That truck finally gave up after 890,000 miles.

This is a golden collaboration of two talented car guys. Both down to earth and not afraid to make something work even if it’s not considered cool. I’m a fan of both channels and can’t wait to see the Collaboration on the van. I think it should be a rear engine setup with air ride. Leave the outside as is. Maybe clear it to preserve. Not so much a full blown hot rod, but a cool cruiser with a little more power than factory.

It’s a guy trying his best to do what he loves on the weekends. A feller can relate to laying on his back with harbor freight tools. Check out his channel, hopefully the community can pay it forward and give this channel a shout out and motivate him with more subscribers. Love the community!

5:55 Yes, they are wind deflectors. From what I've heard, the wind against western junior mirrors made an annoying noise, and those helped quiet it down. Standard for the vans, but dealerships would add them on trucks too if owners complained about the sound.
