@@WDDetailing You needed to be a bit more careful with the steering wheel, there was a stripe pattern on it that you cleaned completely off by accident. You can see it just before you start spraying it, and then the whole centre part of the wheel is a much brighter brown afterwards because the design was erased. I doubled checked other cars, and these stripes are on their steering wheels.

In the early 70's the shoulder belts were not connected to the lap belts and stored above the door windows for optional use. The 400 4 barrel is a big block engine and is no slouch. It still has enough horsepower to light the tires up. Yes, that is an original electric factory sunroof (Rare). The cassette tape player on the console (Rare) could record onto a cassette with a microphone that came with the car. You could record a conversation, notes, or a song on the radio, while driving done the road. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BRENT!!" and thanks for sharing your message. YES, do the Challenger. The tape deck mounted on the console was a cassette player (ask your grandparents) that you could also record cassettes. The 2 black clips above the door is for the shoulder belts (this was before the 3 point belts again ask your grandfather). Did you find a build sheet under the seats? That would be great if you could save it and laminate it. The sunroof was a rare super cool option. That was a rare optioned Charger in 1972 and well worth restoring. Glad to see it clean up so well. The “Power Roof” were upgrades to that package, and it’s pronounced “Bro-m”, rhymes with chrome and the “Young and Restless (not the daytime drama) had the “B” song… “Like bars on a Cadillac Brougham.” My first car was a 1976, Oldsmobile Delta 88, 4dr Brougham (red with vinyl white roof). The light blue with a white top was a very popular color combination of the day, especially with the white interior. BTW, a solid (metal) roof is usually called a sunroof, and a sliding roof with a glass panel is called a moonroof. FYI, the first "modern" American car to have a sunroof option was the 1960 Thunderbird. The first And the first American production car with an optional electric sunroof was the 1968 Cougar. In 1969, more cars started having the option available. All were installed after the car was built by ASC, which is still in business today. that sure looks like an original factory sunroof to me. That radio is rare! The socket is for an optional microphone. This was a super nice, very loaded car for its day. You guys did your usual great job on this barn find car! I really hope the owner restores this car to its former glory.

Once again, absolutely fantastic job at cleaning up this. In my humble opinion, this car needs to be kept all original. They’re only original once it’s good enough to have fun with just paint the trunk lid to match the rest of the car. And don’t touch the rest it’s not gonna be any more fun after spending countless hours and thousands of dollars making it meant. This car has all kinds of rare options, and that cassette player was meant for taking dictation as you were driving around. Like some kind of private eye or doctor. Speaking of, someone with a lot of money bought this car brand new. Thank you for sharing your journey. I’m hoping this car finds a good home and doesn’t get ruined.

More cleanups. :) Dont care if it will run or not, just love watching you detail. As for the color choice. Red... It goes faster LOL Mental issues, i totally feel for you man. I suffered a nervous breakdown at the end of last year after years of extreme stress at work, my dad went for very healthy to can barely walk and doesn't communicate all within a few years and bottling up my feelings was the icing on the cake. At one point besides the suicidal thoughts and depression/anxiety i also had pre-diabetes, pre-hypertension, was getting brain-zaps every few hours, extreme fatigue all at the same time. Thankfully my now new bosses could see the writing on the wall and forced me to take a few months off of work to get my life back. I was talking to a therapist, medicated, I now don't bottle up my feelings and things turned around for the most part. Then my dad took a further downturn in health, now he has dimentia and is just a shell. All those bad thoughts and issues have come back again. I will say as you said tho, talk to anyone who will listen, people do care and know that you are important to others. My wife/family/bosses/friends are soooo supportive and depends on me as i do them, especially my wife who is my world. I love the lines on these third gen Chargers, and like the second gen ones as well. Not sure why so much difference in popularity, I do find the styling more aggressive on the second gen, and the gas filler cap is very cool. Could at least partly be because of the detuned '70s engines, at least after '71 (last year of the hemi, too). My last Charger was a '71 R/T with 440 Magnum and 4-speed, definitely got up and went. Thanks for cleaning this one up!

In the late 60s and early 1970s, they didn't have 3 point harness.Belts they just had lap belts. The clips just above the door frame along the headliner are to hold the shoulder strap for the belt. They weren't mandatory as the new cars.Have them you have the option to bring those across and clip them into the lap belt. The second feature which you had pointed out was actually ACB radio and the plug in was not for a microphone. So to speak, It was considered as a voice transmitter but yes you can say a microphone. The name you showed on the door card for the SE is the name of the roof package. That is for the vinyl top that came on the car.
