I stumbled on your original video where you found your rsv1000, I watched that and enjoyed it,, and then tonight I stumbled on this video, your video reminds me of a interesting story of me wanting to get back on the road after I had to sell my last bike for various practical reasons I won't bore you with, suffice to say I found a bike on tinternet that I fell in love with without knowing much about it, it happened to be a silver first generation rsv1000 mille in silver like your bike, but with red stickers, I stupidly brought it without seeing it in the flesh, got it delivered and immediately it started not starting, turned out I managed to contact the original seller and get my money back I was very lucky , I actually sent off a video to a paint shop of the bike because I thought it needed a re spray, the chap from the bike shop said it had been rattle canned, when I asked him what he meant he said some one had painted it several shades of silver , I re looked for another bike,found exactly the same bike in alot better nick in silver and after various upgrades by myself to get the bike up to date and make it easier to live with, hopefully I can slow down the spend on it, because there cheap to buy but not cheap to run, I recommended lowering the gearing with down geared chain & sprocket and get a evo airbox upgrade, a performance chip, a nice yoshi can and decent air filter..and whack decent irriduim spark plugs in instead of cheap copper plugs, it makes it go like a scolded 🐈.. all it needs now is tyre's, chain and sprocket again, oh and get a decent battery on it and trickle charger, even a Oxford solariser is great, just tops the battery up...lovely bike but goodness it likes the money pot. Bless Italian quirkiness. 😂..a couple more updates u can do is a starter solenoid to 150 amps, heavy duty battery leads will help it get going, any more info u need contact ap performance and speak to griff ,he knows everything aprilia if u don't, I didn't great dude.

What fuel clips are you after? I have a 2000 mille R and i replaced all the fuel pump lines and clips including the main one under the tank that runs to the throttle body including the special quick release clip.I sourced everything locally here in Oz and it cost me a lot less than what AP charge not including their postage to me.I even replaced the 3 seals per injector for under $6 aud for both injectors using bmw seals. Note i would have liked to replace the injector gaskets but mine were still good seeing its only done 8500 kms from new.I also sourced a new KN air filter for under $110 inc postage and oil filter for $22 aud .All still cheaper than AP over their .

Curious and a very minor detail. Why is the rev counter going to 10k as apposed to 6k when it first arrived on initial switch on?
@stoneautomotive10 ай бұрын
The initial rev sweep on ignition on is the RPM rev limiter set in place. When the battery disconnected the standard rpm limiter light is 6,000rpm along with the clocks reading in KPH. Once I knew the battery wasn’t coming off again I set the RPM shift light to 10,000rpm 👍

That was a disappointing end, the whole paint job just seemed a bit to rushed even though you didn't even have the graphics to put on. The bit that's real shame it the rusty bolts, even just giving them a little clean would have helped. Those are the little touches that make all the difference in my opinion.

I really enjoyed the series, its always difficult to know how far to go with a project and i think you hit your brief of keeping time and costs under control thus not going for a full restoration. ACF does work really well on plastics. Well done

Glad to hear 👍 Exactly that, some of the comments you would think this was a forever build I was setting out to restore.. I’m happy with the finished piece and great to see the old girl looking like a great motorcycle again 😎

Thanks 😎👍 Wonder wheels scares me, made a right mess many years ago trying to restore a set of badly stained wheels! Maybe have to same it again on a test piece 🤔

What a stunning build, something so satisfying about seeing such a good bike resurrected! I hope the first proper ride proves to be just as sweet.
