The 140 is really the Goldilocks engine for this kart- plenty of power, still decent on fuel! This was a fun one.

You guys should totally actually probably do a good full on upgrade to the front steering to make it far better for a machine as fast as this one. Otherwise, I think this thing is pretty cool. And as per always, keep doing what you do, because good lord this stuff never gets old.

In regards to the steering, while watching Ike test out the 140 he was doing those 180s and I thought "that thing handles just like a warthog from Halo". Maybe a good theme for a paintjob down the road, something like Gunmetal Grey and OD Green with a jerry can in the back or something, getting the lights working would be cool too.

Sometimes you have to wiggle the wire around to make sure it has a good connection!👍😬 As discussed earlier, the Scotch lock connector is not the best, but will work if hooked up properly!😉✌️ And you might have to do some jet work on the carburetor for maximum performance! Or close to it anyway!👍🤞🙏

These 140s are fun to swap into small things! I've got a lifan 140 5 speed on a 2006 kawasaki klx110 and it's a blast. If I had the room I could probably pull a 3rd gear wheelie. I weigh 195 and the bike weighs around 100 pounds (maybe less since I can toss it pretty far) for reference. Right now I'm waiting on a big bore kit and a bigger carb so the bikes in pieces waiting for a refresh on everything (especially the brakes)

My question is tho...but dont those style engines rely on moving air from driving to keep cool? And if so doesn't the seat restrict that from happening? Id be making some sort of air dam/ram box style to take air from above or bellow to force air flow across the head fins n so on..
@limpy47072 жыл бұрын
the "do not use" are fine if you check that the core of the wire is lined up before clamping down (if its not aligned it will just cut it)

Try some four wheeler mudd tires.& Rims on that go kart guy's. It'll handle way better than the last ones did easier to. Smaller four wheeler mudd tires.& Rims will work on that part. You might half to modify the mudd flappers./whee gaurds. You can also use A mountain bike derailleur for the chain tensioner guide to cause it's spring loaded to. Just fab up your own mounting bracket and bolt 🔩 it into place is all.

I would be a little iffy about that chain rubbing the case, just saying I would inspect that real carefully to make sure that there absolutely no chance of it causing an oil leak. if there's no chance of an oil leak then I would go with it. those scotch lock things that you used, I don't have a complaint with them. I seen them quite a bit especially when adding a trailer light connectors. I've even used them myself without any issues. a person just has to make sure they are covered up and not left out in the open in the atmosphere. but I wouldn't recommend using them on important electrical components under the hood of a vehicle. I don't know but I think some people would bitch if they were hung with a brand new rope.

ehh, just fill the scotch loc with a polyurethane sealant like ultima to make it water resistant. they're ok for low amp, low vibration uses, but if you're gonna wire up an electric winch, or a harness that needs to flex a lot, you might wanna go a different route. they are a field expedient solution, and are better than just twisting wires together and wrapping them up with electrical tape. any electrical connection exposed to the elements will eventually corrode, even if its soldered or terminated into a connector plug, it's just a matter of time. i've even had a weatherpack connector that was corroded on a vehicle that i worked on before, and those things ain't cheap.
