Wow! That old barn is an absolute goldmine! You're going to need about 16 other Jonathan's to help manage all the first starts You're an absolute hero rescuing those cars before the barn came in on them, just in the nick of time too If you could post that Plymouth to West Argyll in Scotland that'd be great 😂

Cannot enjoy these old cars enough! JW does such an important job rescuing these beauties of yesteryear, getting them up and running, upholstery, whatevers needed to bring them back to life. There's nothing like quitting smoking to make you realize how many other things you use your lighter for. Haha, I had the same issue when I quit 9 years ago. What a great find, Jon. That's a whole pile of work. Are the bucket seats and console on that 59 Ford from the factory? If someone has asked me, I would have sworn they never did that in 59, but maybe that's one I've just never seen. Edit: That little business coupe is sweet. I'm not really into Mopars, but I'd rock that car all day long.

Unique to the Galaxie only for 59 if I remember correctly.
@tomadkins28665 жыл бұрын
@@Tiger351 Really?? In all of my Ford loving 57 years, I didn't know that. Thanks! The first full size Ford that I knew of with buckets and console shift was the 62 Galaxie XL. Was that option offered anywhere between 59 and 62? It was a quick look, but that looked a whole lot like like the console and seats used in the 62-63 Galaxies.
@Tiger3515 жыл бұрын
@@tomadkins2866 If I remember correctly T birds had the same seating arrangement for 60-61 (maybe even 59), it was more of a split bench than bucket seats with the console built into the bench and separate seat backs. didn't see a floor shift in the car but it was a very quick look inside.
@tomadkins28665 жыл бұрын
@@Tiger351 I'm pretty sure I saw a shifter sticking up there. I was looking for that and the stub of the column shifter, which was obviously not there a few seconds before. I could be totally wrong. Only Jonathan knows for sure. I hope he does a close walk around of that car.

Great work, Jonathan! It would be hard doing a first start on that VW - they had a fuel injection system that doesn't weather well. Lots of high pressure hoses to rot and a pain in the neck to get to. I'd vote on the business coupe first. We haven't heard a chrysler flat six for a while. We had a ranch rod that was a dodge sedan frame and firewall to front seat, and a bed in the back to carry stakes and wire. No muffler, and I felt like the king of the world tooling around the ranch in that at 14!

The Plymouth is a "CLUB Coupe" The business coupe does NOT have rear side windows. I had one back in 1966 that I sold to my neighbor for $15.oo Somebody modified the one you have to use as a truck. The Chevy fast back appears to be a 1950. The 49 had flat tail lights and the 50 has protruding tail light lenses. The 49 Chevy also has two or three lower grill uprights that are in the lower grille section. They were not there in 1950. Also the Chevy will have a style number plate under the hood that will indicate the year. I still have one of those rusting away in the back yard...
