Jonathan Frid came to our college and did a Shakespeare workshop and closed his visit with a one-man show. What a brilliant and lovely man. He invited the audience on the stage, and we made a circle around him as he performed "The Tell-tale Heart." A thunderstorm blew up, and it was eerie, to say the least.

Barnabas was such a human being. He wanted to plant a garden. He had such a kind heart and soul. Even as a Vampire he was more human than serial killers, terrorists, and war criminals.

I hated this moment (although I appreciaed Frid's performance)! I just prefer Barnabas as a vampire and in that respect, it didn't matter if he was a villain or a HERO! The idea of a heroic vampire usiing their powers to battle even more monstrous villains was still rare in film and other media, such as comics but in stories like The Hand of Count Petofi, Barnabas and Frid paved the way for ANGEL!

Agreed. One of Frid's better scenes. What impressed me was that at the beginning of the 1795 sequence he managed to convey that Barnabas was different. Warmer and more human. And during the course of the 1795 story line he changes and becomes the Barnabas we're familiar with. That was a good show of his skills as well. His acting is almost as good as John Karlen's... ;)

I remember attending a DS C onvention in a hotel room in Manhattan, where I believe it was Roger Davis, whom stated that the actor whom played Dr. Lang, whose name presently escapes me, had such trouble remembering his lines, that he had to write them on his sleeves to help him remember them! Allthough, he was a nice guy! May he RIP!
@thejupiter25743 жыл бұрын
Yeah, actor Roger Davis had a rather sadistic sense of humor. He thought it was amusing to deliberately block actor Addison Powell's view of the teleprompter so that Addison could not read his lines as Dr. Lang. Davis also used to sit on or kneel on the pieces of paper that Addison had placed on the props on the set. The tiny pieces of paper out of sight from the cameras, had his lines written down. Davis thought is musing to either sit on those pieces of paper or lean in and place his hand right over them and then watch actor Powell squirm and panic because he could not remember his lines. Some of the actresses on the show did not like working with Davis neither.
