at 2:26 you can see the urine drain bucket on the side of the chair (black). I prefer a leg bag so when I'm finished gaming I can just roll into bed and let it siphon out to a bottle on the floor using gravity. Doing that keeps the flies down too, because flies mean spiders and the webs block your fan filters

I completely agree, I think it was a compromise I had to make to have a quickly accessible workstation and a racing sim occupy the same space. That being said I bet if I sat down and planned it out I could find a way to get closer to the screens. Like maybe put the screens on sliders so I can pull them out like a drawer.

The Modular Man-Cave! Driving & Flight Simpit, 3x 27" screens, 61" LED DLP TV, G25, Saitek X52 Pro Just recently found your channel... love the nerdiness! I also have a simpit that I built for real cheap. It's unique compared to the others out there in that it's both a racing and a flight simpit all in one with a rotating console for your shifter/flightstick. I also needed to have a setup that was modular, so I could use all of my kit independently with each other, as you'll see in my link above. I have other minor updates, like using a PS3 eye for Freetrack, and dedicated speakers for the simpit. While I currently have x3 27" screens, I plan on going x3 42" or 46". My current PC is an i5 4670K (OC to 4.5 ghz) with just an H100 cooler, and x2 gtx 670 in SLI. I am very much like you and play pretty much everything (on everything) there is out there. If I had a bigger budget, there would be MUCH more I would have... tis the life of an Army Communications Electronics tech for the Canadian Forces.

@squidcaps430811 жыл бұрын
Monitors are way too far. You have to remember that the center screen is the important one, the side screens are just a bonus. Seating position is not quite right, too much lean and too low as the top of the wheel sits above shoulder height. That's not right at all, you are limiting blood flow to your arms.. Arms at 90 degrees, sit up straight, wheel down, monitors half a meter closer. And finally, iRacing.. The minimum requirements on that game should include "top level douche".. Like the video said "don't call it a game".. Yeah, they are just that bad, possibly the most elitist bunch in any game ever made. Good equipment, needs a lot of tweaking to get it working right.
@LazerLord1010 жыл бұрын
Watching this, I just realized how much of an improvement something like an Oculus rift would be. Just think, instead of needing three huge monitors on your desk in order to fill your field of view, you could just put the rift on your head and go.

Check out my DK1 Oculus Rift review, it was not usable for iRacing at all because of the low resolution and screen door. But once that fix that problem it will be epic!

Hopefully. I've gotten some time with the DK2, and it's 1080p, but it's still a bit low. they also got rid of the screen ghosting and (most of) the input latency. Then again, I've never played an actual game on it yet.

Hey! Everyone who thinks that oval racing is only taking left turns, think again. I don't have an oval racing video yet, but as a fellow T500RS user I can tell that oval is as least as difficult to do compared to standard track racing. A car doesn't simply stay neutral in a long banked turn at 300km/h+ By the way, if Jerry is ever gonna read this: buy GRID Autosport! And create a team with me! Please?
@Barnacules10 жыл бұрын
I have GRID and have played it, I found it a bit too arcadish to enjoy though.
@yasgamer10 жыл бұрын
What about the latest one? I've played all of them and the realism is huge in comparison to GRID 1... Still nowhere near real sims
@TheMadscientist198010 жыл бұрын
You're absolutely insane. Learning an oval is nowhere near as difficult as learning a road course. Even a fairly short / simple road course such as Lime Rock has elevation changes, chicanes, decreasing radius turns, and a variety of braking points, turn in angles, and surface irregularities to learn. With ovals you have no more than 3 corners to learn turn in speed and angles for. I mean look at his hands when he's racing. They barely move. That isn't nearly as difficult as GT racing on a road course. Go do a few laps on Nordschleif and get back to me.
@yasgamer10 жыл бұрын
Jason Kennedy I know that. I'm a road/track type myself. I just wanted everyone to stop bashing on a tech guy who is enjoying oval, even though he's not that good. And yeah, Nordschleife is insane. Just saying oval with a car as rudimental as a nascar racer requires more skill than the hating commenters think ;D

This is a crazy impressive setup. Oh one day I'll indulge myself into assembling a real rig.

The only thing I don't like about this simulator is the single axis shifter. I would love it if you could feel the gear changes, not just up and down.
