A great quick workout you can do anywhere in your house if you can't make it in to take a class. Also great do after you go for run to make it a complete workout! Thanks for posting this video!

Yes! Barre is great cross conditioning for runners. It helps build the strength and endurance your muscles need while staying easy on your joints.

Hurts the knees! What adjustments do I need to make?
@BHomeFitness3 жыл бұрын
Hi Theresa! Be sure that your alignment is correct (ears over hips, hips over heels) keep your heels touching for stability and engage your thighs. As you lower, knees over the second and third toe and only lower to a level that is comfortable, but challenging. Not painful! Hope that helps. We just launched a new beginner Barre Workout video today that breaks it all down. Check it out: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHSpdaGHZrahn7c If you're still having discomfort we suggest consulting a physio.

What if my feet don't arch that high
@BHomeFitness7 жыл бұрын
Hi Halima, great question! It's totally OK to keep your heels low, an inch or two of the floor is fine. Simply lift your heels to a height that is comfortable for you. What's important is to find stability in the ball of your foot as you lift the heels and engage your core muscles to keep your balance. Hope that helps! Enjoy...

Is this workout good for people having bad knees?
@BHomeFitness6 жыл бұрын
Sri Vidya that is a great question!!! Firstly, we always suggest consulting your doctor or physio before starting an exercise routine if you have an injury. If you have bad knees, strengthening the muscles around your knee joint, namely your thighs, is something you want to do. This workout is great for just that! However, we'd suggest shortening your range of motion (stay higher in you plié) to begin, and to ensure that you are engaging your thigh muscles, not sinking into your knees. IF you feel pain, you're going too low. It's not as much about how deep the knee bends as it is about engaging your muscles through the movement. Hope that helps! Let us know how it goes.... See you at the barre!

Hi Kaka! We recommend that you do whatever you have time for and what feels challenging for you. You can start with 10 minutes a day and work your way up to an hour a day by pairing a few of our videos together. Most importantly listen to your body :)

Your knee is never supposed to go wider than your second toe or you will seriously injure your knee - you need to tell people that. Too many people are injuring themselves doing KZbin videos.
@BHomeFitness3 жыл бұрын
Hi Tina! Thanks for the feedback, our technique was designed with the an orthopedist and dance physio. If you follow our teaching cues (heels together, thighs engaged etc.) the exercises are safe and will help strengthen the muscles that protect the knee joint. As always, we encourage our clients to move in a range of motion that feels challenging (not painful) in your body. Consulting a physio/trainer/doctor is also recommended before exercise. Happy to answer any technique questions that you have!
Will this make my feet ugly ? I hear dancer feet are..special lol

Two things. Im assuming this type of workout is for women. As a straight male I can’t picture myself doing this sequence. And two. I’m also assuming this is only for petite or slim women. I can’t picture a bigger woman being able to stand on her toes for that long…. I could be wrong in my assumptions. Cool video. I watched to find out what barre was all about.
