I visit this city 40 years ago. At that time,All city is in dark . No highrise and no street light. There was only one train climbing up the hill from the seaside. Once we got on the public bus,the ticket seller would turn off the light inside to save the oil. So I cannot believe this is the same city now. It is a magic.

Thank you for this coverage . I was in Chongqing for 5 years. So I can add a few notes which you may wish to consider featuring the next time : 1) That hotel you stayed in was built and owned by Singapore developer, designed by the same architect who did Singapore’s Marina Bay Sand..thus the resemblance . 2) That “significant point” you had pointed out is where the Yangzi river and the Jialing river meet up and this is the same place where you board the cruise for the three gorges dam. If you see it in daylight, you will see the murky river on the one side and clear river on the other side meeting exactly where the hotel’s front is. 3) Chongqing is hilly. Hotel lobby can sometimes be on the eg 9th floor of the hotel, not necessarily on the ground floor 4) You can board one of these big boats park around the river to take a nice meal with nice river view (fish is the signature dish) 5) 外婆桥 has the best 糍粑 I have ever eaten in China 6) There is a food street along jiefangbei 解放碑 and a 洪崖洞 hongyadong for traditional shopping stuff and food. 7) You should cover their 纯K KTV - cheap and you can have a nice meal in there too. And you can record your singing on the spot onto your mobile. 8) Venture further to find mind blowing large scale spa resorts, natural hot springs, horse riding, para gliding etc. I’m missing Chongqing and friends there while watching your vlog

I must say I, and a lot of Chinese people, would be so much grateful for your introducing Chongqiong and other places to the world. Chongqing is a magecity in China, the area and population is about one third and half of UK respectively. Chongqing is also called the “Mountain City”, and there are many overpasses there, therefore a lot of people are lost when they first time in Chongqing even they have navigation system, so the government developed a new custom made navigation app only for Chongqing😂

Went on this Yangtze cruise from Wuhan to Chongqing when China was still building the dam. The scenery was really really beautiful, many small towns were not submerged yet then. It was my 1st trip to China after much persuasion from relatives and I fell in love with China after this. Was impressed with progress in Wuhan. As the ship was approaching Chongqing, the first sentence that came out from me was 'Is this China?? and Wow!!.. I just can't believe it'. All I read about China in the medias were incorrect. From that day onwards, I never believed what the medias said about China. I love Chongqing and the hotpot. Cities in China are very modern, but not all the same. For example, Hangzhou and Qingdao are very beautiful modern resort cities with very different atmosphere to Shenzhen and Shanghai. And then you have cities like Chengdu where people have a laid back style compared to other big cities. But it's not just cities that are worth seeing. Some of the places in China absolutely would blow your mind. I created a simple blog on this following place I went to few years back. You would not believe your eyes if you see the photos. I can't give links on KZbin, but if you search for "chinaholidayblog" on Google you'll see the photos in my blog. The Yangtze River cruise starts from Chongqing; those large ships with balconies are cruise ships.
