Few years ago I saved some change (~$350) to buy an OBD II scanner in order to do repairs and maintenance. Though I do miss the "mechanical" gear now and then, like I had on my '65 Ford Galaxie 500 for example.

FYI - I just tried replacing the MAP sensor on my 2000 Durango 5.2. I used Rock Auto and ordered the Holstien after-market sensor. The sensor installed properly, but the wire connector does not fit. The connector on the sensor is just slightly too big and it will not allow the wire connector to attach. Had to go back to the OEM original. The OEM MAP sensor is like 4-5 times the cost of after-markets.

Completely unrelated, but I just bought a 97 grand Cherokee tsi, and it needs either a coolant temp sensor or a coolant level sensor, not sure where they go. Any pointers?
@barricadegarage53615 жыл бұрын
The coolant level sensor is in the resovoir and the temp sensor on the V8 is right beside the thermostat. Use the thumbnail of this video for refrence kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqWmf4Jsg89oa5o

Hey, is that cold air intake working for you? Do you notice any horsepower gains?
@barricadegarage53615 жыл бұрын
No, but it looks a lot better than the factory box
@Mauser19655 жыл бұрын
A cold air intake nor a drop in "K&N" filter in the stock box will not provide HP|torque gains. This has been covered by others using an engine dynamometer.
@razzle79742 жыл бұрын
@@Mauser1965 it can improve mileage if its a proper cold air intake that is completely apart from the engine

@barricadegarage53615 жыл бұрын
I ran across that problem when I ordered that part for my '96 but I had no Idea about that problem when I made this video and thought it was a mistake on their part. Right now, im running that map sensor with the elbow shaped vacuum hose being the only thing attaching it to the throttle body, until I find longer screws that fit but it works perfectly fine

BARRICADE GARAGE how long have you had it on like that does it move very much. I think that part number is for the inline 6 model because their map sensor faces a different way compared to the v8

@@deltawolf1789 ive had it like that since I replaced the Throttle body in this video over a month ago. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pmWmi3SCpbdnd80 I just flipped it so the connector faces the drivers side and attached with the vacuume hose.
