An absolute thrill to watch. Respect to all your mud waders and soaked camera folks. Would be scared shitless to attempt anything like this without a winch. And yes this Suzzuki is a proof that most 4x4s are good for a spring-rain-sprinkled paved city road and then there a few designed for anything you through at them. Keep up the great work guys!

@bajaman64 In the RRS I generally run 20 to 24psi for those kind of conditions. While you're only seeing the highlights in this vid, you have to remember that a lot of the sections in between are forestry roads and you want to be able to get along those at a reasonable pace. Am looking at a set of internal beadlocks at the moment that will let me run much lower pressures.

@Aussiejeepnut After a couple of mudholes, we had a pretty good idea of what was posible and what wasn't. Particularly given we had two vehicles go through ahead. If they struggled (or bottomed out) we knew the Zook would get stuck.

@breakfree4x4 It was really going to be just a christmas party day with a short trundle in the morning. I think that knowing the tracks were so close got the better of us ;-) The Zook actually did surprisingly well given it is stock with only road rubber on it. Certainly put the RRS to the test!

@landrovertractorboat Hey adam. The D4 is running the new Cooper ST Maxx, which are a very agressive A/T. In fact they could be described as a mild MT. I'm now running a set of 265/75/17 Mickey Thompson MTZ's. Wicked traction in the mud but dig too deep in the sand. Have a great Xmas!

@Colin Ashby We are seeing the N-parks locking us out of areas all the time.. The tracks are already closed in Barrington during the winter to prevent damage. This sort of thing will just see them closed more often. Although these guys are not driving through the bush you would agree wherever you see a mud hole you will also see tracks through the bush around it. I read somewhere on another video of yours that you raised the suspension to max. I have just bought a RR TD6 L322 with the BMW 3.0l engine. My question is, can you tell me how much punishment the air suspension has taken and what problems at what mileage you have. I am just trying to gauge how reliable they are in the mud and dust it is.
@CraigMarshall_HDvideo4K8 жыл бұрын
I bought one of those new in '03 and ran it as a luxury 4WD tour vehicle for nearly 300,000km in the Blue Mountains, Hunter and Barringtons bush with premium international travellers. Never missed a beat!

I am absolutely loving mine. I think the air suspension and electronics give less hassles in hot countries. anyway , great car, if i was able to spend more time in oz with my family , then i would get an L322 and keep it there for my holiday car.
@haddadbj9 жыл бұрын
what kinda servicing did these cars need after this trip?
@Misadventure4WD9 жыл бұрын
+haddadbj lots of love and tender care always keeps them in tip top shape but it's definitely a lot of work after trips of this nature. We generally give the car a good coating of Lannox on the underbody which helps make it easier to remove all the crud.

TIP 1) Get some training EIther join an experienced 4WD Club that run formal training days or go and actually see the professional driver trainers. It's amazing how much bad information is out there. technique and proper procedures will keep you and your vehicle safe. There are too many cowboys out there taking too many risks and we have seen this result in too many lives lost.
