Whatever the WGA got in their new contract was paid for by thousands of production crew members and their families who are unrepresented in this strike and have lost their livelihoods. Writers are going back to work while we don’t even have our old 12 hour work day “gig to gig” jobs to go back to.

Please explain. I'm interested and don't know. I follow movies and filming. I still look for movies shot on real film

Judging by the comments some of them are probably union people there's two ways this can go you can embrace A.I. technology to help you become a better creator of material or you can become redundant which is what will happen to most of the workers as one person will be able to create content that would have taken multiple writers so the smart people will get on board first and leave the luddites behind to claim social security

Disagree. There is a art, a craft. And many of us are willing to pay extra for the real thing and see someone's talents on display.

@@itsallminor6133 I disagree In the future when AI equals or even surpasses Humans capabilities you won’t be able to tell the difference and most people will buy the cheaper option especially if it’s as good if not better than a human version. Just look at China they wouldn’t have done as well if consumers actually gave a ‘f##k’ about where or how they products are made!

Studio heads get nine figures a year to run into icebergs, pretty good summation of Hollywood right now.

Cable is so dead. Families own TV for streamed content these days. Trying to revive cable is like trying to revive SMS.

My 2 cents.. Little i have. 😂. I just look for extremely well done movies. Preferably shot on actual film. No interest in fake graphics. I'd prefer a hand written script. A hand built set. I look at lot at camera angles. Cinematography. Things seem to be going this way. As many realized film has made a little comeback. Segments of the audience are looking for something "real". Of course its all fake, it's the movies. But the way it can be made, filmed, directed, the scenes can be "real". And production, direction, the camera crew. Everything matters. I'll pay more to watch something real. Not really cable or sitcom? But a truly artistically cast, shot and filmed, directed and produced movie is still amazing. If I'm still thinking about a movie days or months after i seen it. It must have been something. Often I'll pause, rewind, pause, rewind, looking at the lighting, camera angles. The little magic I'm shown. What i can DO WITHOUT is more fake cheesy things. I don't need a all star cast. Prefer not to have one. Bring the most unknown, and best talent. The best crew. Best actors. And you can do this far cheaper. You don't need a multi million dollar cast. You need the most talented, obscure. Best fit for the role. And the best lighting crews, best cinematographer (who often isnt the most popular highest paid). Can you all get back to making movies? Show me something REAL. Surprise me. Bring back your artistic visions, your craft.

I have to disagree with Barry Diller--even if you put the hit shows on the cable networks linear Tv--people want to watch the show when they want to watch the show. How to do that without streaming. Especially when the younger generation wants to use youtube and their phones and tiktok...

I agree, the new generations will never call cable companies to get linear TV. Everything is on the internet. Only 70 years old and up are still using cable TV. How do I plug linear TV in my cellphone when I travel ?

Streamers and the new live TV, I wouldn’t say you need to get different bundles I’d say each channel needs to go independent and stream not necessarily on twitch but leave the comcast and the big distributors
