I'm a big fan of "Iron" Mike Sharpe, "Canada's Greatest Athlete". He was so entertaining with his boisterous, " No, No, No". I would have to say, being a Baby face Enhancement talent has to be the hardest thing to do. A heel just does the typical heel stuff. A baby face has to win the crowd over with them typically not knowing who you are.

A vast majority of them were extremely talented athletes who were for the most part told to lose or to hold back. Granted, there were many who seemed to have as much talent as a football tackling dummy but still had the will to get in the ring with some.of the roughest characters in wrestling.
@MovieEnvy Жыл бұрын
Look at how they take a suplex. That’s how you could tell who was a wrestler and who was a tackling dummy.

I always felt the WWF/WWE missed a golden opportunity to promote one of their 'enhancement talents' by having them appear in a Royal Rumble and win it because no-one really focused much on them. They could then have had this build-up to Wrestlemania with a 3-way title match between 2 of the biggest stars of the day and an absolute underdog. It would have had to be a 3-way match because the underdog wouldn't have been enough to make it a headline act. Barry Horowitz would have been absolutely perfect in this role. We could have seen him training, trying to believe. Just basically a real Rocky-type of story, where he would have gotten to Wrestlemania and wrestled the match of his life, including a couple of near-pins in the midst of spending a lot of time outclassed and outmatched but still getting up and fighting.

WHAT BARRY SAID WAS TRUE! HAPPY I HEARD THIS HERE FROM BARRY AND YES IM USING CAPS FOR THIS!! that story was and is true. i was trained by sharpe in bricktown nj. i and a few others were trained by him know of this story barry mentioned. many dont remember. but yes, sharpe when he came in along with murraco at that time. sharpe was supposed to have a good run with backlund and was being pushed. murraco and sharpe were also a tag team. so vince sr put them 2gether. it didnt fare well, so after the world title run which got clipped, in which sharpe basically said he got screwed out of that, that run stopped suddenly for whatever reasons.so they teamed up. did it for a while, but again according to sharpe vince didnt like the direction of the team and split em up so murraco can go for the IC title. sharpe then was left like dust in the wind so to speak. its all politics like barry said. so afterward mike sharpe wsa the king of enhancement talent. gotta remember, sharpe was well known in canada, nwa, mid south and other places. but in wwf he was enhancement. he made all look lik a star. this is also why mike sharpe was so LOUD and verbal in the ring with the armband as well. why? well sharpe told me u need to stand out. doesnt matter if ur match is 20 min or 2 min, if your "jobbing" many matches, or going over most, you need to stand out. that mike did and is still talked about 2day.
