As bad as Taylor was, Rodgers moving him into midfield in the second half not only exposed scales but left Cerny in aces of space. So yes Taylor is poor but Rodgers needs to take alot of the blame for yesterday as well. Spot on but as we have seen with Ronny,Brendan and Ange there is a real reluctance to alter the shape tactically but rather alter the tactics within the same system. Eventually teams will work you out (as we have seen with the all conquering Pep Guardiolas multi billion side Man City in recent months )no system or approach is infallible or unbeatable. Bit of perspective is needed as is flexibility in terms of approach by fans and Manager alike.

The bigger picture is that we're 11 points clear and will comfortably win the title unless there's an unlikely collapse. However, yesterday should be viewed as a wake-up call and possibly the best thing for us in the long-term. We must use it to pinpoint the weaknesses and become stronger overall, no more complacency. I get that it was one game but this has been coming. Brendan got it so wrong tactically and selection. Clements completely exploited our midfield, who were overrun yet again. The team was woeful. How’s it a dose of reality for Rodgers? This wasn’t his doing, the players were all shocking. Kasper and Carter Vickers were the only 2 who got slight pass marks for me. Everybody else was shocking. We have a faster team than them but all our players looked like they were running with weights shackled to their ankles. AJ did not look sharp at all, think he came back to early from his injury which would be the only thing I would blame Rodger’s for but he had the choice of him or Ralston so I don’t fully blame him. Hatate was off it but so was every player in the middle of the park. I don’t like fans turning on our players because we’ve lost 1 game. We were never going to beat them every single game, it just doesn’t happen that way. However, I fully believe we’ll now win the next 4 or 5 in a row. They will get these one of wins every now and then but they can take them if we win the league. It shows how small their mentality is that they acted the way they did. I said to my brother before the cup final that we need to lose a game because the performances had been a bit off for a few weeks. I didn’t want it to be the cup final because I wanted the record trophies to wind them up. A loss can be massive for a team because it’ll give us a kick up the arse! If that game had closed the gap to 3 points then I’d probably be raging but with the 11 point cushion, and only losing twice in 2024, can anyone see us losing 4 the rest of the season? No, me either. Celtic will win the league, we’ll take in more income from the champions league and we’ll actually sign players in January. Changing formation would have done nothing for that game, our whole game is on being brave and our defence is a big part of getting the ball forward. When you have 3 out of the back 4 giving the ball away with almost every pass then no formation change would have made a difference. Fans need to stop expecting us to turn up at ibrox where we get the most volatile reception out of any team that goes there and just win. For us to get the best out of these games, the players need to be on it and we need to get the crowd on their backs.

Tippy tappy football is like watching paint dry and surely Celtic are better than that. Yes,it was a poor day but tactically rangers had us worked out right away. Taylor being inverted so much enabled Cerny to have so much room on the right. No one helped Taylor in the wide area when we were forced to defend. Scales and Hatate were awful and were lucky to start the second half, should have been subbed off at half time. Celtic had a day when everyone was off, no one won their personal duels. Rangers were up for it and set up the same way they did in the cup final.
