When it's done right its fantastic (not shockingly most are not). I am not from NY but I had the chance to go to L&B Spumoni Gardens years ago and dam was that a legit sicilian pie. It is also the pie that introduced me to cheese under the sauce and for me, idk why but, its a game changer.

Doughy is "Dave Speak" for not browned enough. My friend, a Texas Pizzeria owner from NJ who's on the US Pizza Team in International competition, says, "Properly made dough, properly browned tastes good." His pies are always good and browned, nothing is heavy handed. As soon as I see somebody paint brushing garlic butter or oil on a crust, I'm effing done. STRIKE THREE! You see that Domino's inspired garbage going on all too often in the southern US, it's nothing but Redneck stupidity as to what a pizza should be.

Went there by chance a few months ago, was in the area and my kid wanted pizza. Looked on google maps for a pizzeria near by and they had the best ratings. I knew that it was going to be good just by watching them make the pizza. Now one of my favorite pizza joints. Try both the round and squares. Very nice people working there.

It’s Guinea as in the country in west Africa. It was originally a slur against Sicilians since their skin is a bit darker than northern Italians due to being invaded by North African muslims over just 1000 years ago. The term has now been embraced to mean real Sicilian in a positive way

As evidenced in the tape,lots of stores have shut down on 18 th ave and Da Vinci in only one of the food stores that i go in when in Bensonhurst.Used to live a block away and the pizza has been consistent thru the yrs with the same nice guy there.clean, small,relaxing place which is not yet,run by Chinese people ,like too many stores in the area.That,Villabate and Frank&Sal meat store on the same road ,and that's about the remaining real Italian places to shop left.
