Thanks for the ride along. I've been wanting to try BART but surprisingly never have considering I would go to SF a lot growing up. It's because we would drive from Sonoma County, but now I live in Detroit so it's a bit far away lol. I was there last year but my family was scared to take it. I love the different light rail/subway systems I've used in the Pacific Northwest and in Pittsburgh and I'll soon try more here in the Midwest, but it's mostly buses here plus streetcar and people mover if you're downtown. I know I'll be able to use BART one day though, I still have my Clipper Card from taking the SMART train that travels within Sonoma and Marin County.

Thanks for watching. I always take BART when I come home to visit, but I highly recommend taking it from SFO. If you fly into Oakland you have to change trains in Oakland and that isn't always the best. I did run into a scary situation on my BART ride back to SFO (video coming in a few weeks), but it won't prevent me from riding BART again. You really should give it a try. Let me know when you do.

Hopefully everyone was ok with whatever was happening on your return trip, I'll have to check it out but I'm also not easily deterred when it comes to how people portray places and or in this case BART and in my case Detroit. Bart is too convenient from what I can tell. I did mostly want to use it to go from SF to Oakland for Lake Merritt and whatnot then return and drive back north from SF, but it would be such a massive game changer if the SMART train extended to San Francisco(I don't know if the population of the North Bay is enough to support it though). I wasn't really thinking about taking it from the airport to where my family lives because the transit to the North Bay is possible but takes quite a while or even wouldn't be possible if I was arriving at night. I won't be back for at least a year but I will ride it one day if it's the last thing I do😂

@@A.J.Valenti it was all good and I will be on BART again in September with my grandchildren in tow, so I do feel safe. You'll make on BART for sure in the future. :) Happy Travels.

BART gets a lot of bad press, but it is a really great way to connect to different parts of the Bay Area. Too bad it doesn’t go up to Marin. How long was the trip in total and how much do you think it would have cost to do an Uber or taxi for the same route?
@NanaPoppyTravels8 ай бұрын
Great questions. The total trip time was about 1:15 and an Uber would have cost between $85 - $120. BART was a time and $$ savings.

@@NanaPoppyTravels I used to use the BART every day to commute between Oakland and the city. Do you still have to deal with the bus from Oakland airport to the BART station or have they connected it in the meantime?
@NanaPoppyTravels8 ай бұрын
@@bobbybostic7947 They now have a train from the Oakland Airport that takes you to the BART Station at the Oakland Collisium (where I worked in High School). To get to the East Bay you have to change trains at 19th St. In Oakland. This is a timed exchange so you don't have to wait for the yellow line.

@@NanaPoppyTravels that’s great! I hope to make it back there one day.
