Hello! I hope all of my subscribers and viewers stay safe from the Coronavirus. And more importantly, advise your parents, the elderly and anyone else who's vulnerable to be vigilant and take extra precautions. We all know that it's not fatal for the majority of people who might get it. But it's better to be safe than sorry until the world gets a grip on it. All the best!

Could you explain more clearly why Johnson and Johnson is an international company? Many thanks!
@MisterSimplify3 жыл бұрын
Hello! That's because J&J is a FMCG company. So most of its product don't need a lot of customisation to be sold in most marketplaces. For example, earbuds are the same all over the world. So are baby oils and lotions. They also can produce their goods locally and keep their production decentralised. Hope this helps!

Hello, I’d like to say thank you so much for this video, it’s really helpful and easy to follow for non-english speakers like myself. I do have a question regarding companies in the telecommunicating industry though, where would they fit on this model? Because I notice that there are both domestic and international telecommunicating companies with relatively standardized technology and equipment (for example - 5G) so their placement is a bit confusing for me
@MisterSimplify2 жыл бұрын
Hi Phong. You are most welcome! Keeping it as simple as possible is all this channel is about😊 In terms of your question, I'd place telecom companies that operate in the international markets under Global Strategy. That's because their technology is Standard and the threat of local responsiveness is low. So the technology (5G) is consistent. and they manage a lot of key business aspects centrally. So an American telecom giant operating globally would still manage its group policies centrally. Hope this helps!

Based on the classification of organizational patterns (Bartlett & Ghosall), what do you classify electronic companies?
@MisterSimplify Жыл бұрын
Hello! It would depend on the type of electronic company. Electronic companies can be in either category depending on how they operate.

Where would you place Xiaomi on the framework?
@MisterSimplify Жыл бұрын
I would think of Xiaomi as a Trans-national in the current time. 👍

Where would you classify the company Eataly?
@MisterSimplify Жыл бұрын
Hello! I wasn't familiar with Eataly before you mentioned it. But a company like Eataly could be placed in the Global Strategy quadrant. This is because they need to integrate globally, but retain their original Italian identity, without changing in accordance with the needs of the local market.

Doesn`t McDonald´s use Transnational Strategy?
@MisterSimplify Жыл бұрын
I would say, it sits somewhere in between multi-domestic and transnational. This is because the pressure for local responsiveness is much higher than global integration. If we see McDonalds in various countries, their menus are completely personalised. They sometimes even skip their traditional commodities like the Big Mac in many regions.

Sir I didn't understand throughly meaning of 'responsiveness'
@MisterSimplify3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nishant. Responsiveness refers to how one responds to something. In this case, it refers to how a company responds to the demands of the local market. Hope that makes sense

Hello friends, Why does a company want to bring their products into the US need to go through a domestic company in the US? Then they buy a company in the US or build a company for its own distribution? .
@MisterSimplify3 жыл бұрын
Hi buddy. They might think of this to reduce some risk. A lot will depend on what the product, the organisation and the business model are. If the product is an edible commodity like chocolate for instance, they will need to know what safety regulations companies need to adhere to in the US. And if the company goes through a domestic company, they will know about these regulations and will probably also have a loyal customer base who will be happy to try a new product out. Hope this helps! :)
@ceylanguner19583 жыл бұрын
There are sometimes also trade barriers of just some barriers that the US government puts on to actually defend their domestic market for employment and domestic growth.. that’s why sugar is a bit expensive in the US because they have some import quota’s where the exporter does not want to pay that much too, so I think its a thing with the trade restrictions between countries and the rules of the US government.

Correct me if i’m wrong :)
@MisterSimplify3 жыл бұрын
@@ceylanguner1958 That's absolutely correct. A lot of countries have policies to protect domestic companies, and rightly so

I think Macdonalds has to come under "Transnational" whilst Coca Cola don't really customise their product so it must come under Global I guess :)

'Integration' also not get
@MisterSimplify3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nishant. Integration here refers to how well the local subsidy responds to the expectation of being coherent with the parent company. For example Mc Donalds has a different menu for each country it operates in. It still has a character that's centralised and links it to the company it started out to be in the first place.
@mystery8585 Жыл бұрын
Sorry... Can u please tell me the meaning of global integration again.
@MisterSimplify Жыл бұрын
Certainly. Global integration refers to the brand being really true to it's original identity, even when entering local markets. It ensures centralisation and standardisation.
