Thanks to whoever made this compilation. This whole instructional was one of the greatest things ever put on video. I remember watching the full tape whenever it came out and then showing it to some friends who had no interest in self defense or had ever heard of Bas Rutten. They all fell in love with this guy’s personality and attitude and found themselves laughing. They joked that this is probably the only self defense tape ever made for the the bad guy. Besides all the unintentional comedy, Bas actually supplied a lot of great techniques, information, and insights into the reality of actual street fighting. It’s dirty, ugly stuff. There wasn’t any fancy kung fu hand trapping or dynamic taekwondo kicks involved here. Just the fastest and most efficient way to disable someone who’s trying to hurt you. There was nothing theoretical here. This was all knowledge learned in the real world from Bas’s fights in the ring and the street.
