I just found this series. I am enjoying the build. And the helpful hints for working alone. Hints I will apply in the spring to my own small shed build

It is a pleasure to watch your skills at this. Do you have a material list by any chance?
@BasaPete2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your kind comment. Sorry, no material list. Everything I needed came directly out of my head prior to using it.

@@BasaPete Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I noticed that you are using rough lumber. Do you prefer it? Did you use pine? I know you used hemlock for the siding. Thank you again :)
@BasaPete2 жыл бұрын
@@workshopheritage1045 I like rough lumber for outbuilding and barns. No pine. I used hemlock for the studs, rafters and clapboard and I used spruce for floor joists and boarding in the floors and roof.

I have a concrete sectional garage 16 ft x 8 ft. Needs new roof. I’m thinking of screwing 3x2 timber to the steel Purlins. And screwing wood panels on to the 3x2. And then screwing box profile steel sheets over the wood panels. Any ideas please. Thank you.
@BasaPete10 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment. I did a similar job on my barn roof. Be sure to use a good-quality waterproof underlay between the wood panels and steel roofing.

The City allow you build a Garden shed greenhouse next to the house ?
@BasaPete3 ай бұрын
Thank you for your question. As far as I know, there are no laws that prevent from building next to your house. Besides, I live in the country.

Can you use wood boards instead of plywood on either or both garage roof or house? If not, then why? If so, then how. Thanks. Great videos BTW.
@BasaPete2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question. Yes, you can use boards on a gaarge roof or house roof. Just watch this video if you want to know how.
@natrualsproducts39322 жыл бұрын
@Basa Pete will do. Is there a certain type of wood that you would recommend to use for roofing? I'm trying to rebuild a garage that the wood is rotting out, especially around the fascia boards. The fascia boards are the old tongue and groove. The siding is made of wood, and I would like to know if you had a video on how to do wood siding. I don't know the correct verbiage to describe it, but I hope that you get the gist of what I am describing. Thank you 😊.

@@natrualsproducts3932 I like using spruce for boarding in a roof. The only video that I have that mentions wood siding only shows how to remove clapboards. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4KWYWaMZsSFm8U

@Basa Pete Great 👍 thanks 😊 🙏. This video is helpful even though it was pertaining to putting a deck up, and now I know what the name of the wood is for siding. Thanks again 😊. I have a guide for my project.

Use OSB for your roof, it's less wasteful of materials. And get a pneumatic nailer!
