According to TCGOne, the black star promo eevee is not included in the Base-Fossil card pool. It is included in Base-Rocket format

I did not know this existed. This really is a fantastic idea. I mean, very high risk, but the reward… oh my. Very flavourful! Keep this up. I think this is straight up the best Ptcg format to this day. With the right staple trainer cards. You could play any pokemon you liked, either as a supporting pokemon or an attacker. If you put your mind to it, every pokemon could compete. Dominate ? No. But you can definitely win games. It’s amazing. I sold out of my collection modern cards, to just play this format exclusively. I’m amazed by how crazy these base-fossil decks can go. This is a perfect example. Great video

I was so proud of my self designed deck, I made nearly exactly this deck without knowing this deck existed.. When i was designing the deck I was not sure on how many promo eevee's I should use because of the low HP I was worried of getting donked so I have 2 promos and 2 rocket eevee's (just bought a third promo eevee as an option) I love this deck so much and yes its beautiful have every card in holo execpt 2 ditto's

Just found this channel. Such great content presented in such an intuitive way! Thanks for making these videos. I plan on building a few of these base set/fossil decks for playing with friends as some of us have gotten back into pokemon and this channel has been my #1 source for learning how these old-school decks worked. As someone who has played with these decks I have a question for you. If I'm putting together base set/fossil "Duel-Decks", what would you say are the two most fun deck match ups that are relatively evenly matched?

Jacob Pauls Thanks so much for watching. I’m glad that the videos are helpful. The reason I created this channel is because it was difficult to find deck lists for older formats. Some of the most even matchups I play are probably Rain Dance vs Wigglytuff and Damage Swap vs Haymaker.

Drunk Shuckle thanks! Right now I’ve got the cards to make damage swap and wiggltuff but I’m missing cards for the others so I’ll have to keep an eye out for those. I think I will also make this Eeveetron deck, mainly because it’s pretty and looks fun to play. There are so many decks in this era. Afterwards I might try some of the neo era decks you have shown as well.

I wonder how effectively the Venomoth from the Jungle set would work with a multi-Energy type deck like this or "Potpourri"? perhaps the 2 Grass requirement to attack would be too much, but it only gets stronger with more types in play and its Fighting resistance + free Retreat cost is wonderful (even if it's matched by Scyther[Jungle] which can also utilize any type of Energy). It's a coin flip, but its 'Venom Powder' attack being able to potentially apply TWO special conditions is quite powerful when allowed to hit for the Weakness multiplier very happy to see both Energy Search & Pokémon Trader utilized, though!

This may be a dumb question, but if I have an eevee on the field, and then play a muk, does eevees Pokémon power trigger before muk turns it off?

I played through the gameboy game with a version of this deck recently. Ditto and Blackstar promo Eevee aren't coded in the game so I replaced them with 4 Jungle Eevee, 2 Doduo, and 1 Dodrio. I had two main issues during my playthrough. First, energy management. This deck wants to play aggressively and fast. You will have issues with Energy cards for games that go too long and you get down to your 3rd or 4th Eevee. Scoop up was useful towards the beginning of the game as a way to tank a few attacks and/or move pokemon around before Dodrio is set up. However on a future playthrough, I am interested in seeing if switching those up for Mr. Fuji would be more beneficial. That way once your pokemon takes a lot of damage and you have another pokemon ready to fight for a few rounds, you can recover that damage while still having access to its evolution and energy later in the game if needed. I did test out Energy Retrieval as I was building the deck and as you mentioned it was very helpful. I didn't keep it in, but it is definitely something to consider. My second issue was fighting-type decks, which is why I very much recommend Doduo/Dodrio. Not only does it synergize well with its pokemon power, but its a great stall card against Hitmonchan/Machop which are your biggest threats first turn. To a lesser extent Mr. Mime is an issue. If your opponent is playing damage swap, Gust of Wind and PlusPower to take out the Mr. Mime and Abras as soon as possible is important, don't evolve your pokemon until you take them out or Meditate is going to wreck you.

I'm a bit slow to ask but: Did you ever consider playing with the GB-only Ditto as a 5th-8th copy of Eevee?

When trying to play this on TCG One, I couldn't play it during base-fossil due to the eevee not being legal. Can you confirm if this is the case? Is it not actually legal for this format?

The gameboy game giving you eeveelutions that all use colourless energy to attack is a cool Eevee deck too. Throw in scyther and then add hitmonchan and a psychic type and use fighting and psychic energy and you can hit any weakness
@mrplow8
@mrplow8 Жыл бұрын
I would take out Flareon and just focus on two Eeveelutions. Then add some Scythers so you have another attacker while you’re setting up your Eevees.

Cool deck! But are you sure that Chain reaction by passes aerodactyl? Cause Aerodactyl says "no more evolution cards can be played" - not necessary from your hand. so..... I'm not sure it should bypass it. Also no one can evolve on the first turn anyway so that part doesn't matter

Just made this deck too play against a friend except I replaced jolteon with dark Jolteon and also ran 4 rainbow energies. I went undefeated against a vennucenter deck and a PromoMetwo Haymaker Deck. Was very surprised by its versatility and speed. Dark Jolteon is a beast with lightning flash!

You talk about the deck being hosed if an early eevee is knocked out. What do you think about playing some revive? Or is the fear that you get donked before even having a chance to use revive?
@shuckletcg
@shuckletcg 5 жыл бұрын
Yes, getting donked on too early means that you can’t build the momentum that this deck depends on.

@shuckletcg
@shuckletcg Ай бұрын
@@briansumner123 it’s a fun idea. I’ve tried to make that rainbow deck a few times and the ho-oh isn’t really worth the investment that it calls for. Even with gold berry to back it up.

This Eevee is actually not in the Gameboy Color Games
@nijunikuro
@nijunikuro 4 ай бұрын
It's not in the 1st GBC game 'cause that one was released in 1998, while the Black Star Eevee was 1st released in April 2000. I'm not sure why they decided not to add it to the 2001 sequel (which was never officially released outside Japan), tho. It looks like it could've been a fun deck to try out. :/
